Jason Momoa Sends Life-Size Aquaman Trident To Young Fan Battling Cancer

Jason Momoa proves he’s a real life superhero by sending an official Aquaman trident to a young fan battling cancer. Momoa kicked off his career with roles on several television shows like Baywatch and Stargate: Atlantis before scoring the part of Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones. Then, Momoa became a household name when he was cast as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, in the DCEU. His first appearance came in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, though it only amounted to a quick cameo. His real DCEU debut was in 2017’s Justice League, in which he teamed up with the biggest heroes in the franchise.

Since then, Momoa has only appeared in one additional film as the aquatic hero: 2018’s Aquaman. That film delved into Arthur’s life outside of the Justice League and his struggle of being both of land and the sea. Aquaman was a hit at the box office and earned generally positive reviews from fans and critics. Despite that, Aquaman 2 is still two years away, with it being scheduled for release in December 2022. James Wan will return as director, and Momoa is certain to be back as the titular hero.

In the meantime, Momoa has not let his benevolent side go to waste. Momoa hopped on social media recently to share some pictures of a young fan named Danny Sheehan, who Momoa called an “amazing boy.” Sheehan has pineoblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer. To raise his spirits, Momoa arranged for Sheehan to receive several pieces of Aquaman merchandise, including an authentic trident. The last picture shows a note Momoa wrote Sheehan, which reads, “Can’t wait to ride some dolphins with you Danny! Love, Uncle Aquaman.”

Momoa previously posted about Sheehan in November, sharing a FaceTime conversation the two had. At the time, Momoa said they should try to get Sheehan his own trident, and now it’s clear the actor followed through with this suggestion. It’s an incredibly sweet gesture, and one that demonstrates Momoa’s kindness. He may be known for playing gruff characters like Khal Drogo, but Momoa seems like a very friendly guy.

While fans continue to wait for the arrival of Aquaman 2, they’ll get plenty of new performances from Momoa. In addition to Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, Momoa will be seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League when it premieres on HBO Max next year. As this will be entirely different from the previous Justice League, audiences will essentially be seeing a brand new arc for Aquaman. For fans who have missed seeing Momoa as Aquaman, this is quite the comfort. They only have to wait a few months more to see him in action once again.
