James Gunn has commented on the timeline behind the Superman recasting that saw Henry Cavill be removed from the role.
On Threads, Gunn explained that he was never secretly planning on running DC and taking out Cavill at the time he did The Suicide Squad.
The conspiracy theory started after Nathan Fillion mentioned he was told by Gunn at The Suicide Squad wrap party that he would play the Green Lantern Guy Gardner. However, Gunn revealed that it was actually the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 wrap party.
