James Gunn sheds some light on the Superman: Legacy villain situation as the DC Universe reboot is getting ready to happen next year.
As the Superman: Legacy cast has been shaping up, following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, many are still wondering who will be the actual main antagonist in the movie. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from trying to find out, as two of them recently had interesting responses from Gunn himself.
When asked by @KennySparks90 on Threads if they will see “Brainiac, Metallo, Cyborg Superman or Mr. Mxyzptlk in future Superman movies,” Gunn stated that “who knows what the future will bring – right now all I care about is Legacy.”
On Bluesky, when Gunn had recently shared that he had a new phone, @ejrfoto asked if “this is code for Brainiac being in the DC movies,” which the Superman: Legacy director quickly followed up with “most notably not,” as he also stressed that “although everyone seems to think everything is code for Brainiac in Legacy these days!”
