“It’s A Little Mid-Life Crisis”: The Mandalorian Star Is Not A Fan Of Din Djarin’s New Ship

“It’s A Little Mid-Life Crisis”: The Mandalorian Star Is Not A Fan Of Din Djarin’s New Ship

The Mandalorian’s Din Djarin body double actor Brendan Wayne doesn’t love the Mandalorian’s new N-1 Starfighter, as it makes the newest Star Wars dad seem like he’s having a bit of a mid-life crisis. In The Mandalorian season 3 ending, Din Djarin finally formally adopts Grogu, also taking him on as his Mandalorian apprentice, thrilling audiences. Now that Din Djarin is officially a dad, though, one actor from The Mandalorian believes the N-1 is not the ideal ship for the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie.

In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Din Djarin body double actor Brendan Wayne explained that, while the N-1 Starfighter is a beautiful ship, it’s just not quite right for The Mandalorian’s new family. Wayne said:

I like that N-1, I like the story behind the N-1, but I feel like it’s a little mid-life crisis-y for Din. All of a sudden, now he’s like I’ve got a sports car, I’ve got this kid stuck in a bubble. I feel like I didn’t even get a chance to put a sticker on the back of the Razor Crest that says, “My kid plays at…”

With Din Djarin officially a dad, it will be interesting to see how his character has changed and developed in The Mandalorian & Grogu.

Following The Mandalorian season 3, Din Djarin may very well have to ditch the ship equivalent to a sports car. Din Djarin’s N-1 first appeared in The Book of Boba Fett, when he notably did not have Grogu because Grogu had gone to Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Temple to train as a Jedi. It makes sense why Din Djarin would have gotten a ‘mid-life crisis’ ship, believing this child he loved had left him, and he was once again on his own.

However, because of Luke’s insistence that Grogu pick between Din Djarin and the path of a Jedi, Grogu left the Temple, returning to Din Djarin. With Grogu back, it may be time to return to a Razor Crest, the ship Din Djarin had before the Naboo starfighter, which would offer more room for father and son. While it may not have a bumper sticker, it would better suit the little family, even as they have agreed to help the New Republic with the occasional mission.

It will be exciting to see what changes Din Djarin has implemented by The Mandalorian & Grogu. Initially, audiences expected The Mandalorian season 4, so the twist that the two would next appear on the big screen was a surprising but fascinating update. It remains to be seen what exactly this plot will be, but it nevertheless holds true that Din Djarin’s new N-1 Starfighter might not be the best fit for The Mandalorian’s proud new father.
