A full video with Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon reacting to the new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer has been released. The new trailer for the film was hotly anticipated, with Sony even holding a live fan event in L.A. its the debut. Holland was in attendance for the event, where he was visibly moved by the crowd’s reaction to the trailer while speaking to them, explaining how he got the role when he was just 18, and that it changed his life forever.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is the third solo film for Holland’s “Home” trilogy of Spider-Man films, which began with 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and was followed by 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now, the saga is concluding with Spider-Man: No Way Home, which releases in theaters on December 17. Holland’s first appearance at the webhead was in Captain America: Civil War and he would later appear in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers Endgame. Jon Watts is on directing duties again for No Way Home and is currently gearing up for a reboot of Fantastic Four that will bring those characters into the MCU proper.
Now that the full Spidey trailer has done the rounds online, the official Spider-Man YouTube account has released a reaction video with Holland, Zendaya, and Batalon, which has the trio watching and reacting to the trailer. The three actors have worked together in the MCU since Spider-Man: Homecoming. The co-stars reveal that it’s the first day of the Spider-Man: No Way Home press tour as they sit down to watch and share their reactions. Batalon sums it all up perfectly, saying at the end, “Oh my goodness, people are not ready.” Check out the video below:
Holland will next be seen taking on another franchise character with his role as Nathan Drake in the video game adaptation of Uncharted, which releases in 2022. Just prior to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the actor re-teamed with Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo for the Apple+ original film, Cherry. Zendaya, meanwhile, will also be returning to another franchise, as she’ll reprise her role as Chani in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, which will release in October 2023.
Frequently, the stars of any given movie are fairly reserved in their online reactions, but Holland, Zendaya, and Batalan are a younger group of actors who come from a very different generation. Regardless of how “staged” a video like this may appear, the reactions and commentary are refreshing, as they feel natural and genuine. It’s easy to forget sometimes that the talent involved in a film can be just as hyped and excited about a new film, whether they’re in it or not, so seeing these three enjoy a new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home in the same way that many at home did makes it an even cooler experience.
