Star Trek: Prodigy star Kate Mulgrew thanks Netflix for picking up the beloved all-ages animated series after fans’ #SaveStarTrekProdigy campaign rescued the series from cancelation. In October, Netflix officially became the new streaming home of Star Trek: Prodigy four months after Paramount+ purged the show from its service. Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over, Kate Mulgrew is finally able to speak publicly about Star Trek: Prodigy joining Netflix.
On Twitter/X, Kate Mulgrew posted her thanks to Netflix for becoming the new streaming home of Star Trek: Prodigy, which will drop all 20 season 1 episodes on Christmas Day, December 25th. Mulgrew also reminds fans that Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 will then release on Netflix in 2024. Check out her post below:
As Kate Mulgrew reminds fans in her post, she portrayed Galina “Red” Reznikov for 7 seasons of Orange Is The New Black. Returning as Admiral Janeway in Star Trek: Prodigy will be a streaming homecoming, of sorts, for Mulgrew.
Star Trek: Prodigy premieres on Netflix on December 25, 2023.
