Is Mark Hamill In Disney’s Percy Jackson & The Olympians Show? Who Plays Augustus

Warning: This article contains spoilers from Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1, episode 6.

Episode 6 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians features Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood in the infamous Lotus Hotel, where they meet a new character named Augustus, and some fans think Mark Hamill plays him. The first season of the Disney+ fantasy television show strays a bit from the source material during episode 6, “We Take a Zebra to Vegas,” and one of the changes is the introduction of Augustus. Augustus does not appear in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson book series, but he seemingly plays a significant role in Grover’s story arc in the show.

In Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1, episode 6, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover get closer to the final destination of their quest (Los Angeles), but they make a quick stop in Las Vegas. Like what happens in The Lightning Thief, the trio is drawn to the Lotus Casino, which traps its guests for long periods despite feeling as if little to no time has passed. During their stay, Grover runs into Augustus, a satyr he previously knew who has fallen victim to the Lotus Casino’s deceiving charms.

No, Mark Hamill Is Not In Percy Jackson & The Olympians

Although Augustus bears a resemblance to Mark Hamill, the actor does not play the character in Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1, episode 6. Hamill, who is most known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, is not currently attached to the Disney+ television series (although that doesn’t mean he won’t join the cast in a future season — if it gets renewed). So, even though Augustus looks and sounds like Hamill, he is not portrayed by the Star Wars actor.

Augustus is an older satyr who has assumingly been trapped in the Lotus Casino for many years in Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He was one of the many satyrs to set out on a quest to search for Pan, the Greek god of the Wild, and when Grover encounters Augustus in episode 6, he claims to have found Pan. However, as the episode goes on, it becomes evident that the effects of the Lotus Casino have taken full effect on Augustus’s mental state and that he has not actually discovered Pan.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is being praised for its fidelity to the source material, though that does not mean there are no changes to the books.

Augustus Is Played By Voice Actor Ted Dykstra

Ted Dykstra (not Mark Hamill) plays Augustus in episode 6 of the Disney+ fantasy show. Dykstra, a playwright and actor, is known for his voice roles as Dad Tiger in Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Reg in RoboRoach. He has also appeared in shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Reign, Orphan Black, Transplant, and The Expanse. Unfortunately, it’s unclear if Dykstra will reprise his role as Augustus in a future episode (or season) of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
