Ironheart star Anthony Ramos shares his reaction to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a sweet Instagram post. The In The Heights performer joins Judas and the Black Messiah star Dominique Thorne, who is leading the cast in the titular role. Development on Ironheart was first announced in late 2020 during Disney’s Investor Day with Snowpiercer and Amazing Stories vet Chinaka Hodge landing the job of head writer for the six-episode series a few months later.
Ironheart first arrived on the comic book scene with a cameo in Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 No. 7 from creators Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato before properly being developed two issues later. Riri Williams is a young engineering student who attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology upon getting a scholarship and works on designing her own suit of armor similar to Iron Man’s by using material stolen from campus. Her later work as a vigilante in her suit would draw the attention of Tony Stark, leading to their meeting and his decision to endorse hero work under the moniker of Ironheart.
On the heels of word breaking of his casting, Ironheart star Anthony Ramos took to Instagram to share his reaction to joining the MCU. The Golden Globe nominee expressed his excitement for becoming a part of the comic book universe and his gratitude for being given the opportunity. See Ramos’ sweet post below:

The announcement of Ramos’ casting in Ironheart not only captured the attention of audiences for his recent popularity with Hamilton and In The Heights but also for the reported future plans for the star. Though his character is currently unknown, Ramos is reportedly being built up to continue into the MCU after his appearance in Ironheart in a similar vein to Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror making his pseudo debut in Loki season 1 before going on to other projects, including Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. With details regarding Ironheart‘s plot and character roster still largely unknown, it’s left to audiences to speculate and theorize who Ramos will bring to life on the screen in the Disney+ MCU series.
As development continues on Ironheart, it will be interesting to see what other stars Marvel lands for the series and how they nab their roles. Dominique Thorne previously revealed she didn’t even have to audition for her lead role while Ramos’ current rise in stardom has established him as a sought-after talent for major franchises, including his upcoming turn in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. While audiences await more word on Ironheart, they can look forward to Thorne making her MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 11 before her Disney+ series.
