Iron Man Just Proved Why He’s Marvel’s Most Important Hero

Spoilers for A.X.E.: Judgment Day #6 by Marvel ComicsWhile helping save the world from Judgment Day, Iron Man just proved he’s the most important hero in the Marvel Universe with his actions. In A.X.E.: Judgment Day #6, Tony Stark plays a vital role in convincing the Celestial destroying Earth not to do so, as Iron Man shows that he doesn’t need superpowers to be a great hero – as without them, he’s one of the greatest heroes in the entire Marvel Universe.

Iron Man has a complicated history of being a hero in the pages of Marvel Comics. His actions have benefited the Marvel Universe and led to the creation of some of the most powerful villains seeking to destroy it. However, despite his missteps, Tony Stark has played an important role as a hero in the Avengers, as a key leader on the superteam. Iron Man sacrificed himself to save the world in Avengers: Endgame, and now, in the comics, he’s proving that he’s the most important hero in the world with his actions.

In A.X.E.: Judgment Day #6 by Kieron Gillen, Valerio Schiti, Ivan Fiorelli, Marte Gracia, and VC’s Clayton Cowles, Iron Man is among the heroes who venture inside the Celestial causing Judgment Day in hopes of saving the world from destruction. After meeting the true face of the Celestial, Tony Stark recalls his own failures and his battle to continue to make amends as a reason why the Celestial doesn’t need to continue its mission. Iron Man says that if someone as big of a mess as him can be a hero, the Celestial can be too, as that’s “what being a hero is all about.” His words directly lead to the Celestial undoing his actions and ending Judgment Day.

Iron Man Proves He’s Marvel’s Most Important Hero, Despite His Flaws

Iron Man Just Proved Why He’s Marvel’s Most Important Hero

While there are more powerful and impressive heroes in the Marvel Universe, Iron Man’s Judgment Day journey proves he’s Marvel’s most important hero. From using his own DNA and structure to awaken the Celestial in efforts to stop the war between the X-Men and Eternals, to venturing inside the Celestial – as the only non-powered hero – to make amends for bringing it online, to convincing the Progenitor to stop Judgment Day, Iron Man shows what makes him a truly great hero. Despite his failures, Tony Stark continues to fight on even in the face of near-guaranteed extinction of the human race.

Despite his flaws, Iron Man proves in the story that he’s the most important hero in the Marvel Universe, as there’s no telling what the fate of the Earth would be without his intervention and actions. Yes, Iron Man accidentally caused Judgment Day, but he made things right by saving the world with his words, actions, and never-give-up attitude. Without Iron Man, there might not be a Marvel Universe. A.X.E.: Judgment Day #6 by Marvel Comics is in comic book stores now.
