Invincible Secretly Revealed The Best Way To Kill Omni-Man For Good

Invincible Secretly Revealed The Best Way To Kill Omni-Man For Good

Invincible season 2, episode 4 subtly reveals a key way to kill Omni-Man. Throughout Invincible, Omni-Man appears indestructible, a characteristic attributed to his Viltrumite heritage. The Viltrumites are a formidable civilization of warriors, who are known for their quest to conquer worlds, assimilating them into the Viltrumite empire. The Viltrumites develop their powers at a young age, then undergo brutal training, ensuring only the strongest survive. Possessing superhuman strength, speed, endurance, the ability to fly, advanced healing, and invulnerability, Viltrumites appear unstoppable.

As Omni-Man weakens Earth by eliminating the original Guardians of the Globe and defeating the threats from Cecil and the Global Defense Agency, it seems like there is no way that Omni-Man can be stopped. However, Invincible’s Omni-Man and Viltrumites have weaknesses. One of these weaknesses is shown in Invincible season 2, part 1’s ending episode, particularly during Omni-Man’s flashback sequence, showing potentially the best way to kill Omni-Man.

A Black Hole Could Kill Omni-Man In Invincible

Invincible Secretly Revealed The Best Way To Kill Omni-Man For Good

At the start of Invincible season 2, episode 4, a broken Omni-Man leaves Earth and flies light-years through space until he reaches a black hole. Omni-Man seems to give up his power, allowing the gravitational force of the black hole to draw him in. He would have ended his life if it was not for the Thraxan’s ship being sucked into the black hole. Omni-Man chooses to save the Thraxans instead of letting himself die at that moment.

However, this short yet impactful scene reveals that a black hole has the ability to kill a Viltrumite. Examining the limited weaknesses of the Viltrumites shows how the black hole is able to kill Omni-Man. Viltrumite’s skin is almost impenetrable and possesses accelerated healing. However, when the skin is exposed to extreme heat, such as that of the sun or boiling plasma, it renders the skin vulnerable and can be fatal for the Viltrumites.

Stellar black holes are freezing on the inside, having a temperature of nearly absolute zero, while Supermassive black holes are even colder. However, the black hole’s event horizon, which is the outer boundary of the black hole, is incredibly hot. Once stuck in the gravitational pull of a black hole, nothing can break free unless it can travel faster than the speed of light, which is how Omni-Man escaped. Black holes reach a temperature of 20 million degrees Fahrenheit on the outside, which is 2,000 times hotter than the sun. So, seeing as Viltrumites can die in extreme heat, the temperature of the black hole would certainly have killed Omni-Man.

Why Invincible’s Black Hole Reveal Is More Useful Than It Seems

This knowledge of the Viltrumite’s weakness to extreme heat, as well as Omni-Man subtly showing that a black hole could kill him, highlights a way that he and the Viltrumite race can be defeated. Though shoving Omni-Man inside a black hole is not entirely practical, as is seen in Invincible season 2, episode 4 when he is able to break free of the gravitational pull. However, Cecil and the Global Defense Agency could use this knowledge to develop a technology to combat the Viltrumite race.

The GDA is actively seeking defense mechanisms to level its chances against the Viltrumite race. This is shown in Invincible season 2, episode 2 when Invincible fights the sea creature. As they are fighting, the sea monster lets out a piercing shriek that renders Invincible defenseless. This is because Viltrumite’s power of flight comes from a sensitivity to the inner ear. Cecil sees how this affects Invincible and begins to weaponize the sound. The same can be done with the power of a black hole. The GDA could develop technology that simulates similar conditions of the black hole, creating an effective weapon in Invincible to defeat Omni-Man and the Viltrumites.

Invincible May Have Already Exposed Omni-Man’s Black Hole Weakness

Alternate Mark is restrained by the GDA in Invincible

The post-credits scene of Invincible season 2, episode 2 may have already revealed that the GDA has used a weapon with the strength of a black hole against Omni-Man in a different universe. In this scene, Invincible‘s Angstrom Levy asks for a restrained Mark’s help in exchange for allowing him to continue his mission to conquer planets. Mark reveals that the GDA took out his father with experimental quantum bombs.

He explains that not only did the bombs defeat Omni-Man, but they also took out most of Europe in the process. Due to the immense devastation these quantum bombs caused, they could have harnessed the power of the black hole to defeat Omni-Man. It is clear from Invincible Season 2, Episode 4, that Omni-Man can be defeated by the extreme temperatures of a black hole. The utilization of such power as a weapon in Invincible season 2, part 2, as potentially shown by the GDA’s actions in the alternate universe, could prove instrumental in defeating Omni-Man and the formidable Viltrumite race.
