Invincible Season 2 Unveils Jay Pharoah’s Chracter Bulletproof In New Image [EXCLUSIVE]

Screen Rant is excited to share this exclusive image of Jay Pharoah’s new character being introduced in Invincible season 2. Invincible, based on the acclaimed comic of the same name by Robert Kirkman, follows Mark Grayson. Mark is the teenage son of the beloved hero Omni-Man, and once he develops powers, he steps up to become a hero in his own right. However, in the first season, Mark, aka Invincible, learns the dark truth about why his father is actually on Earth. Omni-Man attempts to recruit Mark for his cause but fails and, in response, mercilessly beats him when they fight.

The second season of Invincible will pick up after the world saw Omni-Man decimate Invincible before fleeing Earth. Mark will be forced to reckon with the truth about his father’s betrayal as well as what it means for his own status as a superhero. The second season of Invincible will be broken up into two parts, with the first half debuting in November and the second half premiering in 2024.

Invincible Season 2 Unveils Jay Pharoah’s Chracter Bulletproof In New Image [EXCLUSIVE]

Screen Rant’s exclusive image from Invincible features a new superhero being introduced in the second season, Bulletproof. Voiced by Jay Pharoah, he is impervious to harm, can fly, and will be a new addition to the Guardians of the Globe. However, fans who have read the comics know that his powers have a tragic origin tied to his family, experimentation, and parents playing favorites.

It seems the new season of Invincible will continue to flesh out the heroes of this world, following the trend of the short centered around Atom Eve that was released in July. Bulletproof may help Mark reckon with his own broken family or could become a rival of sorts as Mark tries to move past what happened to him. As Mark tries to find his path as a hero in the second season, he will need to face his biggest hope turned fear: that he is his father’s son.

Invincible stars a powerhouse voice cast led by Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Seth Rogen, and J.K. Simmons. The series was created by comic creator Robert Kirkman, who also serves as an executive producer and wrote the first season’s premiere and finale. Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Catherine Winder, Simon Racioppa, Margaret M. Dean, and David Alpert are also executive producers.

The first half of Invincible season 2 will hit Prime Video on November 3.
