Invincible Season 2, Part 2’s Surprising Omni-Man Twist Was Set Up Secretly In Season 1

Invincible Season 2, Part 2’s Surprising Omni-Man Twist Was Set Up Secretly In Season 1

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Invincible season 2, part 1 and the comics!

Invincible season 2, part 2 is incredibly exciting, as it will contain an incredible Omni-Man team-up that viewers won’t expect. The world of Invincible is full of superheroes, meaning that it is also full of superhero team-ups. Invincible, the members of the Guardians of the Globe, and other heroes team up at a variety of points throughout the series, but none of them are as cool as the Omni-Man team-up that is expected to be seen in season 2, part 2. Since Omni-Man is the villain of Invincible, some viewers would be shocked to hear that he has an upcoming superhero team up, with it being one of the best.

Invincible season 2 is finally here, with the highly-anticipated continuation of Amazon Prime Video’s beloved animated superhero series having already released season 2, part 1 on the streaming service. Invincible season 2, part 1 may have only been four episodes, but it packed a lot into its first half, with it following up on Omni-Man’s battle with Invincible in Chicago while also introducing all kinds of wacky new characters. However, Invincible season 2, episode 4’s cliffhanger ending left things off on a tragic note, setting up one of the best superhero team-ups from the comic series. So, here’s who Omni-Man could team up with in Invincible season 2, part 2.

Omni-Man And Allen The Alien Will Team Up To Escape The Viltrum Empire

Invincible Season 2, Part 2’s Surprising Omni-Man Twist Was Set Up Secretly In Season 1

As it turns out, Omni-Man will have to team up with Allen the Alien in order to escape the Viltrum Empire in Invincible season 2, part 2. Invincible season 2, part 1 ended with Mark and Nolan fighting a trio of Viltrumites on the planet Thraxa, with the battle being brutal. However, Mark and Nolan ended up losing the fight. Mark is given orders to take over Earth in Nolan’s place and sent back home, while Nolan is restrained and loaded onto a Viltrumite ship. It is explained that Nolan is being taken back to Viltrum to be executed, meaning that he will have to somehow escape in season 2.

Luckily, it is already known how Nolan escapes the Viltrum Empire due to the comic series. In the comics, Nolan is held prisoner while awaiting execution. He happens to have a familiar face as a cellmate, with it being the Coalition of Planets agent Allen the Alien. The two slowly become friends and decide to work together to overthrow their captors and escape, with them breaking out and killing several Viltrumites before heading off to get further assistance from the Coalition of Planets. This team-up leads to a fun character dynamic and a great action scene, making it an anticipated part of season 2.

Omni-Man & Allen’s Team-Up Pays Off An Invincible Season 1 Setup

Invincible getting ready to Punch Allen the Alien

Omni-Man’s team-up with Allen is interesting for another reason, as it pays off a big Invincible season 1 setup. Early in season 1, it is revealed that Allen the Alien has come to Earth several times, with Omni-Man always having to fight him off. However, there was confusion on both sides, with Omni-Man not knowing Allen’s intentions, and Allen thinking he was on Urath, not Earth. The duo’s beef would have been settled had they just talked things out, which is ironically all they can do while locked up in a Viltrumite prison together.

Could Amazon’s Invincible Changes Stop This Team-Up From Happening?

While the team-up between Omni-Man and Allen the Alien is cool, there is a small chance that it might not happen. Allen the Alien is an agent of the Coalition of Planets, which is led by Thaedus. In the comics, Thaedus and the Coalition of Planets are a heroic group that helps fight back against the Viltrum Empire, although this isn’t the case in Amazon’s show. In the show, Thaedus is changed to be a traitor, with him secretly working against the Coalition of Planets, seemingly in order to help the Viltrum Empire defeat it.

Allen the Alien is last seen in season 2 recovering from a brutal beatdown by the Viltrumites on the Coalition of Planet’s home planet. However, Thaedus sneaks in and turns Allen’s recovery pod off, hinting that he may die. If Allen the Alien dies, that means he will never be captured by the Viltrum Empire, meaning that he will never team up with Omni-Man to escape. It is possible that Allen could still recover and simply be turned into the Viltrumites by Thaedus, however, with this being a simple way to weave both storylines together in Invincible season 2, part 2.
