Indiana Jones Poster Art Recasts Harrison Ford’s Iconic Role With Pedro Pascal (& It Looks Awesome)

Pedro Pascal is Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones replacement in new poster art. After first playing the character back in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ford’s Indy would become one of the most iconic movie heroes in Hollywood history. The actor recently bid farewell to the role this past summer, with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny‘s ending giving the character a definitive sendoff after the four previous installments.

Now, comics-style art shared by Desi Bell Punk on Instagram imagines Pascal donning the fedora as Indiana Jones following Ford’s retirement from the role. Check out the art below:

The art sees Pascal’s version of the hero sporting a more colorful costume than Ford ever did, but recreating the actor’s iconic pose as featured on the original Raiders of the Lost Ark poster, bull whip and all.

Prior to the release of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, there was some question about how the franchise might continue after that film’s release. Ford was adamant that it would be his final time playing the character. In response to a question regarding the role being recast during an appearance on Today (via Tanooki Joe),the actor even said “I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone.

Ford’s stance, however, seemingly wasn’t shared by everyone at Disney. While attending the latest film’s premiere earlier this year, CEO Bob Iger said “We’ll see,” regarding the future of the franchise. Although Iger may have been trying to keep the door open before, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny‘s disastrous box office performance has likely ensured that Ford will get his wish.

Indiana Jones 5‘s poor box office performance (made worse by the film’s monstrous $300 million budget) suggested that Disney vastly overestimated general audience interest in the now 42-year-old franchise. This wake-up call will seemingly ensure that the franchise lies dormant for quite some time. It’s always possible that the Indiana Jones franchise will continue in some form down the line, but, for now, it’s not looking like Pascal will get a chance to actually don the fedora.
