Incredible Star Wars Cosplay Shows Just How Diverse Mandalorians Can Be

An outstanding cosplay features a Twi’lek in Mandalorian armor, something unheard of in The Mandalorian or the larger Star Wars franchise. However, since the Mandoverse has established that Mandalorian is a creed in addition to a race, any species in the Star Wars galaxy can become a Mandalorian foundling. Grogu is on his way to becoming a full Mandalorian in the upcoming Star Wars movies or TV shows, making it fitting for Star Wars cosplayers to explore other aliens donning beskar armor.

Marajadecosplay shared her exceptional rendition of a Twi’lek Mandalorian, sporting bright red skin with black tattoos and dark red and gray armor.

The attention to detail is breathtaking, from the rips on the bottom of the cape to the scuff on the beskar armor. It’s a brilliant look at the variety Mandalorians could and should display in the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars Needs More Aliens In Mandalorian Armor

The Mandalorian Grogu Armored Ears

This Star Wars cosplay proves that The Mandalorian and other spinoff stories should feature various aliens in Mandalorian armor. The idea of several Mandalorian clans with different kinds of armor and unique traditions was already fascinating, but having foundlings from non-human races would be incredible to explore. Perhaps aliens are treated like outcasts by more traditional Mandalorian sects and embraced by clans who weren’t born on Mandalore. Bo-Katan Kryze’s Mandalorians initially rejected Din Djarin for having no Mandalorian blood, raising the question of how non-human foundlings are treated.

There could even be a whole Mandalorian clan made entirely of non-humans. Since the Mandalorian sector was composed of many planets, it’s possible that some of them were composed of an alien race who embraced Mandalorian culture. It’s also plausible that non-human foundlings would band together to form their clan, opening the door to an array of familiar Star Wars aliens in beskar. With Grogu destined to craft his Mandalorian armor alongside Din Djarin, The Mandalorian and other Star Wars spinoffs can explore the possibility in detail.

The Mandalorian is set after the Empire’s fall and before the First Order’s emergence in the ever-growing Star Wars universe. The series follows the travails of a lone gunfighter named Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic. Acting as the first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian has become incredibly popular on Disney+, partly due to Mando’s relationship with Grogu, which the internet dubbed “Baby Yoda” upon his introduction in season 1.
