In the Land of Saints & Sinners Clip Sets Up A Liam Neeson & Kerry Condon Rivalry

In the Land of Saints & Sinners is an action thriller from director Robert Lorenz (The Marksman, Trouble with the Curve) and writers Mark Michael McNally and Terry Loane. The movie stars Liam Neeson as Finbar Murphy, a former assassin whose retirement is interrupted by the arrival of IRA members on the run. The movie also stars Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), Ciarán Hinds (Belfast), Jack Gleeson (Game of Thrones), and Colm Meaney (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine).

Screen Rant is happy to present a clip from In the Land of Saints & Sinners that shows off the movie’s cast, especially Condon’s IRA member Doireann McCann and Neeson’s Finbar Murphy, as Doireann searches for Finbar. In it, Doireann’s dangerous temper is on display, as is Finbar’s practiced professional restraint. Check out the clip as well as the In the Land of Saints & Sinners trailer, and get ready to watch the movie when it hits theaters on March 29.

In The Land Of Saints & Sinners Assembled A Multigenerational Cast Of Irish Stars

In Liam Neeson’s Screen Rant interview tied to the film, the actor was quick to praise the movie’s other Irish-born stars. As revealed by Neeson, the actor’s relationship with co-star Colm Meaney dates back 40 years, and his friendship with Ciarán Hinds has lasted over 50. All three actors are within a year of age and have long helped to bring Irish and Ireland-set films to American audiences for decades.

In the same interview, Neeson also shared his enjoyment in working with Jack Gleeson and Kerry Condon. The movie is one of Gleeson’s first he came out his post-Game of Thrones retirement for The Famous Five, and looks to be a fitting followup to Condon’s appearance in the Ireland-set The Banshees of Inisherin. With Gleeson at 31 and Condon at 41, the pair represent a group of Irish actors who likely grew up watching the performances of people like Neeson, Hinds, and Meaney.

It’s the blend of those generations that pays off in In the Land of Saints & Sinners. Though the movie’s director, who previously directed Liam Neeson in The Marksman, isn’t Irish, he has assembled a cast that brings some of the country’s top talent together for the benefit of audiences worldwide. It is, for example, the first movie that pairs Neeson and Condon, or Gleeson and Meaney. As Neeson, Meaney, and Hinds aren’t truly retiring, In the Land of Saints & Sinners doesn’t represent a passing of the torch—instead, it’s a celebration of the Emerald Isle’s long history of top-tier talent.
