Ryan Gosling gave his highly anticipated performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars, and a few of his co-stars from Barbie joined him onstage. Gosling played the main Ken in the 2023 fantasy comedy film directed by Greta Gerwig, and the actor’s performance as Ken was regarded by many as one of the highlights of the movie. As a result, Gosling was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken in Barbie at the 96th Academy Awards, and his song, “I’m Just Ken,” from the biggest film of 2023 was recognized in the Best Original Song category.
Like all the other Best Original Song nominees, Gosling sang his hit tune from Barbie at the Oscars on March 10, 2024. It was a big production, and many expected there to be surprises during the performance. Thankfully, Gosling and the Academy did not disappoint, and a handful of the other actors who played different Ken variants in Barbie made unexpected cameos during the awards show.
