Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin, the creators of I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, have created the new comedy pilot, Computer School, for HBO Max. Robinson and Kanin first met while both were writing for Saturday Night Live. After SNL, they moved on to be co-creators of Detroiters with Sam Richardson and Joe Kelly, wrote for Documentary Now!, and most recently created their own Netflix sketch comedy series, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson.
Now, Variety has revealed that Robinson and Kanin have a new comedy pilot in the works titled Computer School. The pilot follows a recently graduated high-schooler who attends the same computer class as his uncle. The series will be set in suburban Michigan, and Robison will play the role of the uncle. Robinson and Kanin are writing and executive producing the pilot, and Andrew Gaynord (The Characters) is directing.
It is yet to be announced who will be co-staring alongside Robinson as the recent graduate. From Robinson and Kanin’s years of working together and their past credits, including several cult comedy series, Computer School may be a promising new single-camera narrative comedy, their first since their work on Detroiters. Gaynord also has several well-received comedy series as well as the critically acclaimed film, All My Friends Hate Me, under his belt. Announcements regarding who next will join the cast of Computer School, and whether they have formerly worked with Robinson, Kanin, or Gaynord, will be announced as the pilot develops.
