Hulk’s Strength Gives Captain America’s Shield a God-Tier New Power

Hulk’s Strength Gives Captain America’s Shield a God-Tier New Power

When Hulk once fought the Abomination with Captain America’s shield, the hero used the patriotic weapon to show off his god-tier powers, unleashing a powerful attack by throwing it at his gamma-powered opponent. In Hulk #4 by Marvel Comics, Hulk borrowed Cap’s shield in a battle with the Avengers, using it in his slugfest against Abomination. However, when Iron Man told Hulk to put all of his power behind throwing it at the villain, it showed off his incredible strength in a new way.

Captain America’s shield is one of Marvel’s most iconic weapons, as Steve Rogers has used it since his earliest adventures – with only a few changes being made to it over the years. However, in the pages of Marvel Comic, different heroes and villains have wielded the weapon, from Iron Man to a version of Doctor Doom wielding Cap’s shield and Mjolnir in an upcoming issue of All-Out Avengers. However, when the Hulk used Captain America’s shield against Abomination, he showed off his god-tier powers by knocking Abomination to another planet (with the help of Iron Man).

In Hulk #4 by Mark Waid, Mark Bagley, Andrew Hennessy, Jason Keith, and VC’s Cory Petit from Marvel Comics, Bruce Banner was shot in the head, leading his healing factor to not work as it should, making his transformation into the Hulk incredibly dangerous. Risking potential brain damage, Banner transformed into the Hulk to help the Avengers take on Abomination. In the epic battle, he exchanged multiple haymakers against the gamma-powered villain, while using Captain America’s shield during the fight. To take down Abomination, Iron Man told Hulk to take the shield and use his god-tier power to throw it with all his might. Thanks to Tony Stark rigging a teleporter triggered by Cap’s shield being thrown, Abomination was sent to Jupiter after Hulk threw it using his pure strength.

Ultimately, Hulk throwing Captain America’s shield with his god-tier powers and strength resulted in one of the coolest uses of the weapon ever. The power of the throw, plus Iron Man putting a teleporter triggered by the weapon, ended up causing Abomination’s defeat – which is always a huge challenge, even for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

While readers have seen the Hulk get his own variant of Captain America before, there’s something special about seeing the hero use his strength and god-tier powers to throw the Avenger’s shield as hard as he can. It’s too bad Hulk can’t always control his rage; otherwise, giving him a shield to fight with that’s similar to Captain America’s wouldn’t be that bad of an idea, as it would make him an even more unstoppable force in the Marvel Universe.
