During the coronavirus outbreak, many struggle in isolation, lacking the means to get everything they need from the confines of their home. Whether its the recent surge of apps, like Zoom for video conferencing, or finding ways to help individuals in new roles, such as parents homeschooling or trying a new social media gig to make extra money, technology has been a great way of staying in touch with the outside world.

While many states prepare to lift stay-at-home orders, other states still have to wait to see if their state governments decide to lift the orders. For example, many counties in California have renewed the stay-at-home orders until the end of May and while many still remain home, companies have been adapting in order to accommodate social distancing, like Amazon and the food delivery service, Tock.

Walmart has now unveiled its new Express Delivery feature that offers 2-hour home deliveries. The service can be used for over 160,000 items, from groceries to toys and electronics. With the exception of those who are already Delivery Unlimited customers, each Express Delivery costs an additional $10 on top of delivery. Here’s how to use the new Walmart service.

If you’re already familiar with Walmart’s delivery service, then the process is quite similar to the standard delivery. If not, it’s easy to pick up on quickly. After visiting the Walmart website or the mobile app, customers will need to enter their ZIP code to see if Express Delivery is available in their area. Providing it is available, customers can go to the top left corner to the Pickup & Delivery tab, or just search walmart.com/grocery to add products to the cart. It should be noted there’s a $30 minimum required for each order, and depending on the size of the item, there also could be a quantity maximum for each item as well.

Once you’ve added everything you want to the cart, it is time to head to the checkout. The Reserve A Time window should pop-up next, along with the options of either Pick Up or Delivery. Choose Delivery, and a Locations pop-up will be visible on the right. To see if delivery is available at your address, enter your location. Next, reserve a time, choose Today, and toward the top they’ll be a option to switch Standard shipping to Express. Once you’ve paid, the delivery will be at your door within two hours, both during the coronavirus outbreak and afterwards.
