The holidays are here and Google Nest products are one of the ways tech can help with getting into the spirit of Christmas. For those who miss walking into retail stores during the holidays and hearing Christmas music constantly playing in the background, any of Google’s smart speakers are a great way to move the festive party to the home.
Google Nest smart speakers are versatile devices, due to Google Assistant. Apart from playing all sorts of audio, users can ask their Google Nest smart speaker questions and Google Assistant replies with quick, informative answers. In addition, for those that are more invested in a smart home ecosystem, many of those additional smart home devices are likely to be compatible with Google Assistant, allowing a Nest smart speaker to be used as a smart home hub.
Providing a household is already fitted out with at least one Google Assistant-powered smart speaker, such as a Nest Audio or Nest Mini, filling the home with musical cheer is fairly simple to do. The first thing will be to add a compatible music streaming service like Spotify or YouTube Music. Using the Google Home app, music-streaming services can be linked by tapping the profile icon, then on Assistant settings, Music and finally, on the right streaming service under More music services. Ideally, a paid music will be best, as it will allow for greater access to personalized playlists, songs, and albums. Then it is time to create a custom holiday playlist using the music service’s dedicated app. Once done, it is then just a matter of asking “Hey Google, play my holiday playlist.” Alternatively, if a playlist sounds like too much work at this time of the year, simply say “Hey Google, play Christmas music” and the Google Nest device will respond with a station full of Christmas songs.
Stream On Multiple Google Nest Speakers
Christmas music shouldn’t be limited to one Google Nest device, which is why it helps to make use of multi-room support to play Christmas music on multiple speakers at the same time. From the Google Home app, tap Media to launch the audio controller. This section of the app will also show the available devices linked to the same Google account and on the same Wi-Fi network. Then, simply tap all the devices to add and the Christmas music will begin playing in sync on all of them.

After al, they come with an almost endless number of possibilities for interaction with other smart devices, including televisions, thermostats, security cameras, smart plugs, and more.
