In order to use better weapons in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, the weapon levels for any given unit will have to be increased as new chapters are completed to prevent any character from dealing less than optimal damage. As Shez’s journey alongside any of the three factions continues, players will have likely noticed that weapons have different ratings, namely E, D, C, B, and A. These letters actually refer to the weapon levels, with E being the lowest rank that can be used by any unit, and A being the best quality of weapon that can only be used by certain units.
Weapon levels determine many things, such as a unit’s ability to fight against another enemy, the amount of damage that can be dealt by them, and even their performance as an Adjutant in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. Though many of the effectiveness of many weapons in the game correspond to their level, Legendary weapons are an exception. Players that are fortunate enough to find a Legendary weapon in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes will be able to equip it on any unit at any time, similar to how an E rank weapon can be used by any character as well.

For example, the beginner classes can use both E and D rank weapons no matter their level of mastery. Intermediate classes grant units access to C-rank weapons, advanced classes have access to B-rank arms, and master classes can equip any A-rank weapon. This is one of the many reasons why it is important to unlock new classes in Fire Emblem: Three Hopes, in addition to the stat and ability benefits that new classes provide units.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes – How To Increase Weapon Levels
Unlocking a new class in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is increasingly difficult. Once players reach chapter four, they’ll have access to Intermediate Seals that will allow them to unlock an intermediate class for a unit that has mastered the beginner class. After the class is equipped, that unit will gain access to the C-rank quality weapons.
Unfortunately, gaining access to B-rank and A-rank quality weapons will take much longer. All advanced classes can only be unlocked once players reach chapter seven. In a similar fashion, the only way players can gain access to A-rank weapons is by reaching chapter 10 to unlock the master classes in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
