Dead By Daylight has many cosmetics players can equip to customize their Survivors and Killers, and the new Cats and Dogs Collection outfits are the perfect fit for pet lovers. These two pet-sitter outfits are available for Claudette, who has the prim dog sitter clothes, and Meg, who dons the cat-fostering outfit.
In the release notes for the collection, Dead By Daylight Product Store Manager Rose Li says the team came up with the idea for the cat and dog outfits when they realized both international cat and dog day occur in August. Now, players can honor their pets by wearing these stylish clothes while trying to escape from the murderous killers. If these two cosmetics take off, then perhaps similar outfits could be designed and added for other survivors in the future as part of the same collection. Here’s how to unlock both of the new outfits in the Cats and Dogs Collection for Dead By Daylight.
These fun cosmetics aren’t awarded as an achievement for surviving against one of Dead By Daylight‘s many killers but are instead a purchasable set of items available in the in-game Store. To access the Store, players should boot up Dead By Daylight and enter the main menu. They will need to select the Store option in the bottom-right corner of the menu, or the upper-left corner in the mobile version. The icon for the Store is a suitcase with creepy appendages sticking out, a fitting aesthetic for this horror-inspired game.
Purchase the Cats & Dogs Cosmetics in Dead By Daylight
Once in the store, players can hover over the many buyable cosmetics on the right side of the screen in the Featured section and select the desired pet-themed outfit. They can also be accessed by selecting Characters, then choosing either Claudette’s or Meg’s portrait. Because the Cats and Dogs cosmetic sets are classified as Very Rare, they’ll be surrounded by a purple border that denotes their rarity.
After selecting the Cat or Dog cosmetic, players will notice that the outfits are split into three different parts: the head, torso, and legs. While buying each piece individually will cost 400 Auric Cells each, purchasing each outfit as a bundle will only cost 1080 Auric Cells, which saves 120.
Auric Cells are one of several types of currency available in Dead By Daylight, and they can only be acquired through certain circumstances. The main method is by paying money in the in-game Store for a specified amount of them. Players can purchase Auric Cells by opening up the ‘Auric Cells Packs’ button at the top of the Store menu. Buying the 1,100 pack costs $10, so players will need to spend that amount of cash to unlock at least one of these cute cosmetics.
Those who play the mobile version of Dead By Daylight can obtain Auric Cells in a variety of other ways, such as increasing the prestige of their characters, completing daily and weekly rituals, and more. With this in mind, it’s much easier for mobile players to get their hands on these playful, pet-themed outfits than PC or console players.
