How To Get Hero Tokens Fast In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

How To Get Hero Tokens Fast In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

To get the best upgrades for your gadgets and suit tech in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players need Hero Tokens: a rare resource that drops from specific activities. Most early upgrades require Tech Parts, Rare Tech Parts, and City Tokens, all of which are much easier to find. However, you’ll need Hero Tokens to unlock the best tech and some of the game’s most iconic suits.

To find Hero Tokens, you’ll need to engage in some mid-game and late-game side activities. They’re rare enough that you’ll want to think carefully about which Suit Tech upgrades to grab first. Unlike Spider-Man’s Tech Parts, Hero Tokens don’t drop from all of the game’s different activities. Instead, you’ll have to prioritize a few different types of activity.

Hero Tokens are rewards for completing the following activities:

  • Mysterio’s Mysteriums
  • The Flame side quests
  • Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app requests.
  • Major side quests, such as Miles’ Cultural Museum questline
  • Hunter Bases
  • Symbiote Nests

The best way to get Hero Tokens quickly is to complete Mysterio’s Mysteriums. These become available shortly after our gang of heroes visit Coney Island. However, you’ll need to be playing as Miles to complete them.

Mysteriums contain challenging timed combat encounters, testing Miles’ ability to combine his gadgets and abilities in order to complete objectives. In return, you’ll receive a Bronze, Silver or Gold rating, and Hero Tokens based on your rating.

Mysteriums are the best way to get Hero Tokens quickly, as they’re shorter than other activities. Side quests and FNSM app requests also drop Hero Tokens, but they tend to take up more time and effort. Hunter Bases take extra time too, as Miles and Peter need to clear out multiple Hunter Blinds before they can tackle the bases.

For the late-game, Symbiote Nests are ideal for grabbing Hero Tokens for any final upgrades you need. However, they only appear close to the end of the game, so you’ll want to be careful about spending Hero Tokens to unlock suits for Peter or Miles.

You’ll also earn two Hero Tokens every time you complete one of New York’s 14 districts. Each district has a meter that gradually fills up as Miles and Peter complete activities inside their area. Luckily, this tracks all side activities, not just the ones listed above.

However, it’s worth noting that you’ll need to fill each district’s meter completely to get Hero Tokens, so this isn’t the fastest way of getting them. Ultimately, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 makes it easy to get Hero Tokens in the late-game, but you’ll want to grab as many as you can before that point.
