In the new eighth expansion of World of Warcraft, titled Shadowlands, players will have the chance to explore the realm of the dead and discover new dungeons, join Covenants, and save the allies whose souls have been taken to The Maw. While exploring the Shadowlands, players can find new collectibles and treasures. As players collect these, they will earn Anima, complete achievements, and finish tasks for certain Covenant Callings in the game.
Right now, there are 14 new Treasures of Maldraxxus to recover, though it is likely more will be added once the new expansion drops. Maldraxxus is one of the five new zones for players to explore in the Shadowlands and is considered the birthplace of necromantic magic. There are seven different areas in Maldraxxus, and players can find at least one treasure in each of these areas: House of Constructs, Hose of Eyes, House of Rituals, Theater of Pain, House of the Chosen, Seat of the Primus, and House of the Plagues. Find the Treasures of Maldraxxus in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
The 14 Treasures of Maldraxxus often come with a few notable drops once a player finds them. Several will also require players to have certain buffs or complete certain tasks first, like killing an NPC to obtain the key or completing a quest prior to accessing one of the treasures. Here are all 14 treasures and where and how to find them.
Forgotten Mementos
Players will find the Forgotten Mementos treasure at coordinates 22.5, 30.5 near the westmost part of the House of Constructs. To reach it, players need to enter the Etheric Vault, find the Vault Portcullis, and locate the chain pull in the next room to open it.
Halis’ Lunch Pail
Players can find the Halis’ Lunch Pail Treasure at coordinates 30.7, 28.7 in the center of the ring at the House of Constructs.
Kyrian Keepsake
The Kyrian Keepsake is located at the northmost point of the House of Constructs at coordinates 32.7, 21.1. To access it, players will need to interact with the Kyrian Corpse near the waterfall.
Necro Tome
The Necro Tome treasure is located at the House of Eyes in the round structure close to the House of Constructs. The coordinates for this treasure are 42.3, 24.3. To access this treasure, players will need to complete the questline that begins with Read Between the Lines. They can pick up the quest from an NPC just south of the door to the structure. The reassure can be found all the way at the top of the tower. Players will have access to the Necronom-i-nom from this treasure, which grants them a random effect.
Chest of Eyes
On the northeast side of the Maldraxxus map, players will find the Chest of Eyes at coordinates 49.4, 15.1 in the House of Eyes. To reach it, players will need to climb inside the wreckage of Nurakkir. Finding this treasure will also grant players the Sp-eye-glass.
Misplaced Supplies
Players will find the Misplaced Supplies treasure North of the House of Plagues at coordinates 62.4, 59.9. It is located on top of a mushroom at Glutharn’s Decay. It may help to climb the rocks with a mount.
Ritualist’s Cache
The Ritualist’s Cache can be found at the northwest Forgotten Wounds structure in the House of Rituals region. Its coordinates are 64.6, 24.7. Players will need to first loot the Missing Ritual Pages from a Bone Pile in the area (coordinates 69.8, 31.0), then use the Book of Binding Rituals at the Rotting Mound structure, and make it back to the Cache to unlock the treasure within five minutes of using the book. Players will also receive Page 76 of the Necronom-i-nom.
Stolen Jar
The Stolen Jar is located between the House of Rituals and House of Plagues markers on the map at coordinates 66.1, 50.4. It can be found in the tunnel under the tree. Players will also receive the Reclaimed Vessel to begin a new quest.
Glutharn’s Stash
Glutharn’s Stash can be found at coordinates 72.8, 53.6 at the Rotting Mound in the House of Plagues area. To access this treasure, the player needs to kill Scathely and his minions. The Stash can be found in front of the bookshelf.
Runespeaker’s Trove
The only treasure located at the House of the Chosen is the Runespeaker’s Trove. Players will find this treasure at the Unyielding Assembly location, coordinates 31.7, 70.0. To access the treasure, players must kill Runespeaker Phaeton and loot the Runespeaker’s Key. This will unlock the treasure. Players can also take the Stained Bonefused Mantle armor from this trove.
Sword of Oonar
Players can find the Sword of Oonar in the ring at the Theater of Pain at coordinates 51.4, 48.4. It is by far the most time-consuming one to access. Players must first purchase a Potion of Unusual Strength. Then, they will need to purchase Strength of Blood. They can get this from So’Tru in Darkhaven. Players must then wait for the A Few Bumps Along the Way world quest. It may be a good idea to set the Theater of Pain as the player’s new home to help with fast travel and make sure all the necessary buffs stack.
Once players complete A Few Bumps Along the Way and receive the Battle Hardened x2 buff, they’ll need to go to Glutharn’s Decay and eat 4 Edible Redcap. Finally, players can return to the Theater of Pain, take both the Potion of Unusual Strength and the Strength of Blood potions, and pull the sword from its place. Players will receive Sorrowbane, a unique, high-level two-handed weapon, and Oonar’s Arm, which teaches the player how to summon this companion.
Ornate Bone Shield
Players can find the Ornate Bone Shield at coordinates 47.2, 62.1 at the Theater of Pain. It can be found on the ground near what appears to be the skull and bones of a large creature. From finding this treasure, players will also be able to pick up Hauk’s Battle-Scarred Bulwark.
Plaguefallen Chest
The Plaguefallen Chest is, as noted in the name, located in the western part of the House of Plagues region at coordinates 57.6, 75.8. To access this treasure, the player needs to first become Plaguefallen. The easiest way to get this buff is to either enter the tunnels located at coordinates 62.4, 76.5 or step into the puddle of concentrated plague until the Plaguefallen buff appears for a few minutes. The treasure is located through the tunnels, and it also drops Reanimated Plague, which will teach the player how to summon a plague companion.
Vat of Conspicuous Slime
On the western side of the House of Plagues at coordinates 59.8, 79.0, players will find a small tent structure, under which they can find the Vat of Conspicuous Slime. To access the treasure, they will need to take a bottle from a table nearby and use it on the pool. They will also receive the Phial of Ravenous Slime, which can deal damage in combat.
