How To Build The Borg Cube in Starfield

How To Build The Borg Cube in Starfield

Starfield gives you tons of options to build your ship to resemble iconic sci-fi vessels, including the ominous space station of the parasitic robots from Star Trek: The Next Generation known as The Borg Cube. The infamous location where countless members of the United Federation of Planets were assimilated, this machine can be tricky to recreate. Even the simple design of the Cube requires plenty of effort.

To get started customizing your own ship, buy parts from a Ship Technician, an NPC you can find at pretty much any landing zone on civilized planets. New Atlantis, Neon, and Akila City are a few of many spots where you are able to spend your Credits on various pieces to a vessel’s design. Finding more ship parts in Starfield is essential to putting together your own craft that looks exactly the way you want it to.

Step 1 – The Base

The first sections you’ll want to buy in Starfield to make The Borg Cube are Habitat Modules that make up the exterior shape of the ship. While this option depends mostly on preference, it might be best to take parts that are compact squares with lighting on the outside to resemble the Cube better. The base layer of this build includes a 4×4 set of Accu-Lander 11 Landing Gear, with a single Landing Bay somewhere in the center.

Step 2 – The Middle

An Engine Bracer structural component will have to go on the base as well next to the Landing Bay in Starfield, so make sure it looks similar to the other Landing Gear to mask its inclusion. The layer above the base can have more structural parts that form another 4×4 square. As long as these sections line up in the suggested amount of space, it doesn’t matter what exact parts these are.

The Bridge can be quite tricky to fit in the center of one of your 4×4 layers, unless you use the Kon-Tiki B-400 part for its unique slim design. After getting this piece, create another 4×4 layer with structural parts and add two White Dwarf 3030 Engines to the interior. This will allow your ship to move in Starfield, with a Shield Generator as well on this layer to provide defense during space combat encounters.

Continue on to the third layer of 4×4 sections with Habitat Modules, as you can probably sense a pattern here near the end of the production. This time, place a Cargo Space and Fuel Tank in the center area surrounded by the symmetric components. The challenge here is just like the rest of the design – finding parts that are small and efficient enough to be put into the middle areas of the ship in Starfield.

Step 3 – The Top

For the fourth 4×4 layer, add two more Dwarf Engines to the middle around another square shape of Habitat Modules. The fifth layer made right after may make you include a structural component in the center to balance your ship’s design somewhat. For the sixth and final layer, create another 4×4, but this time fill in the square with Habitat Modules to close off The Borg Cube in Starfield.

Once you stack all these parts on top of each other with their own individual layers, take the time to include Weapon Modules on the exterior of the ship to give yourself some scary firepower. While it may seem easy to build The Borg Cube in Starfield, there are plenty of ways to tweak the design for a more personal touch.
