How The Masked Singer’s Lambs Clues Fit This 90s Girl Group

How The Masked Singer’s Lambs Clues Fit This 90s Girl Group

The Lambs debuted during The Masked Singer Muppets night, and the clues that they gave seem to point to a 90s girl group. The trio competed against Robo Girl, who debuted the episode before and moved on to the next round after beating Mermaid in a battle royale. Beetle also joined the group during the episode. Beetle was revealed as TV host Jerry Springer, and Robo Girl was revealed as The Vampire Diaries actress Kat Graham. Lambs performed “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry, but none of the panelists’ guesses matched the most popular one that fans had been spreading online.

Fans knew from The Masked Singer‘s Lambs performance preview clip that the 90s girl group Wilson Phillips was behind the costume. The girl group was popular in the 90s and early 2000s. It consists of Carnie and Wendy Wilson, the daughters of The Beach Boys singer Brian Wilson, and Chynna Phillips, whose parents are John and Michelle Phillips from The Mamas & the Papas. As always, The Masked Singer showed a clue package for the contestants, which solidified fans’ theory. In the package, the Lambs admitted they grew up together in Beverly Hills. As the children of famous parents who were friends, this clue matches the girl group perfectly. The Masked Singer contestants then hint their childhood dreams turned into a career on the stage and on the screen. The stage hints at them being singers, but there are no movie credits for the group. However, their music has been featured on tv shows like Yellowjackets and in movies like Bridesmaids and The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement.

Lambs’ Paul McCartney Clue Points To A 2015 Collaboration

How The Masked Singer’s Lambs Clues Fit This 90s Girl Group

One clue that panelists focused on was a pair of jeans that had “Famous” written on them. Ken Jeong took this to mean the Kardashian sisters were behind the costumes since they’ve become famous for their butts. However, Jennie McCarthy made the more rational assumption that fame is in their genes. This certainly applies to Wilson Phillips and their parents. After their performance, guest panelist Miss Piggy asked them a few questions, one of them being who is the most famous person they’ve worked with. The Lambs told her they had the privilege of working with Paul McCartney. The women’s parents know Paul and have performed with him, but they’ve also sung with him. Wilson Phillips did the background vocals on Paul’s 2015 single “FourFiveSeconds’ featuring Rihanna and Kanye West.

It’s hard to argue that anyone else could be behind the Lambs when the clues fit so perfectly with Wilson Phillips. There are probably even more clues that no one has caught yet that further prove they’re behind the costume. One thing that stood out in their clue package was a big diamond ring. This could point to many things, like diamond records or an engagement for one of the singers, but it’s hard to tell.

Wilson Phillips seems like the obvious answer, but there’s always a chance the Lambs will shock everyone. Robin Thicke had one of the better answers for the contestants, guessing them to be the country trio, The Chicks. Nicole Scherzinger also had a good guess, thinking Haim could be in the Lambs costume. However, fans are pretty set on Wilson Phillips. They were correct with their Robo Girl guess and many others throughout the season. As of now, Wilson Phillips is the best answer.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 pm EST on Fox.
