How The Masked Singer Season 8 Premiere Was The Best Yet

The Masked Singer didn’t let fans down with its season 8 premiere, and out of the seasons that have aired, this premiere was the best yet. Before the season aired, the show was teasing fans with some of the most exciting promotions in the show’s history. Along with the return of host Nick Cannon and panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger, a whole new format was introduced. This season will include more costumes than ever before and two eliminations per episode, meaning fans don’t have to wait as long to find out who each contestant is.

The Masked Singer also excited fans by teasing that NFL pro Tom Brady might be competing on the show. While tweeting hints for the season, the official show account tweeted a gif of a goat, which in modern society stands for greatest of all time. The football player is known as the goat in the NFL for his impressive skills, including seven Super Bowl wins. Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers player denied rumors he was on the show, but fans are still holding out hope that he may make an appearance later in the season as one of the many costumes.

Luckily, The Masked Singer season 8 premiere kept fans entertained as they wait to see the athlete and was the best premiere the show has ever aired. During The Masked Singer season 7, fans expressed disappointment in some celebrities on the show, feeling as though they weren’t as well known as contestants in past seasons. Pastry chef Duff Goldman was the first contestant eliminated during the season 7 premiere, and a lot of The Masked Singer fans weren’t familiar with him. However, this season, no one was let down by the two reveals. Knight was the first contestant to be unmasked and was revealed as Star Trek actor William Shatner, which many fans had already guessed online while watching his performance. The other eliminated competitor was Hedgehog, revealed as Eric Idle, and fans were equally as excited to see him.

Another thing that made the premiere so great was an aspect of excitement and anticipation that the last few seasons of the show lacked. Since The Masked Singer season 8 has promised themed nights and more stars than ever before, including a live performance from season 1 finalist Donny Osmond, the premiere got fans excited for everything that’s to come in future episodes. Fans also got to see Harp’s performance and believe she is definitely Glee star Amber Riley. Glee was one of the most popular shows on television from 2009 through 2015, meaning if Harp is Amber, she may be one of the best-known celebrities to ever compete on The Masked Singer. It also always adds to the excitement when the panelists are able to correctly guess contestants instead of throwing out outrageous guesses, no offense to Ken. Robin and Jenny were both able to correctly guess a contestant during the premiere.

If The Masked Singer had lost any fans in recent seasons, the season 8 premiere certainly reeled them back in. It was packed with excitement, talented contestants, and satisfying reveals. Clearly, producers have been keeping tabs on their fans and taking their feedback to heart. If The Masked Singer keeps up the good work, there will be many more seasons to come in the future.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8pm EST on Fox.
