How The Below Deck Cast is Reacting to Eddie Lucas Becoming a Captain

Eddie Lucas from Below Deck shared the incredible news that he’s officially a Captain. While his time on the show has come to an end, Below Deck fans are excited to hear about Eddie’s new role as Captain of a harbor tug in Baltimore Harbor. Along with his fans, the cast of Below Deck and others within the Bravo franchise flocked to Eddie’s post and showed their support for him on Instagram.

Eddie is not the only franchise star to be moving into a new role away from the spotlight. As casting changes appear across the franchise, with Captain Lee leaving Below Deck season 10 for health reasons and stews like Below Deck Mediterranean alum Hannah Ferrier not returning to the crew, the stars of Below Deck are finding new jobs outside the show. Though some cast members are no longer in regular rotations on the super yachts, they still support each other’s endeavors.

Below Deck’s Captain Lee Wishes Eddie Lucas Well

In an Instagram post from December, Eddie announced he would soon be captaining a harbor tug in Baltimore, Maryland, a dream he has worked towards for the entirety of his career. After several seasons on Below Deck with Captain Lee as his boss, fans were excited to see that he congratulated Eddie with a sweet comment saying, “So very proud of you Eddie and all the hard work you’ve put in to get that fourth stripe. Well done Captain Lucas, well done sir. I proudly salute you.”

The Below Deck Cast Congratulates Eddie Lucas

Previous cast members were excited to hear Eddie’s news, with Izzy Wouters from Below Deck season 8 commenting, “Yesssssss Big E! You go girl,” while Josiah Carter from season 6 commented, “Yesssss amazing Eddie congratulations xx”. Cast members from other Below Deck shows also took to Eddie’s Instagram post to congratulate him as well, including Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht and Hannah from Below Deck Mediterranean and The Real Love Boat. Fans were thrilled to see the franchise alumnus supporting one another.

While some of the more obvious Below Deck cast members, like Eddie’s one-time fling Rocky Dakota, were not seen in the comments section, Eddie’s biggest supporters were sweet and kind with their congratulations, expressing how enthusiastic they were for the new captain. As sad as some fans were to hear that Eddie was not returning to Below Deck as a First Officer, they are excited to see him fulfilling his dreams. Someday, he may even have enough experience to captain a super yacht.
