How Robert Englund Wants To Reprise His Stranger Things Role In Season 5

How Robert Englund Wants To Reprise His Stranger Things Role In Season 5

Robert Englund has expressed interest in returning to Stranger Things as Victor Creel in season 5, suggesting how the character could be handled if he reappears. In season 4, Victor was revealed to be the father of Henry Creel, who was framed for the murder of his family in 1959. In reality, Henry – who later became Vecna in the Upside Down – was the true culprit behind his family’s death and his father’s incarceration.

Now, Bloody Disgusting reports that Englund expressed interest in returning as Victor in Stranger Things season 5 during Terror Con in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The horror icon also suggested how Victor could return, and what could happen between him and Vecna. Check out what Englund had to say below:

In Stranger Things season 4, there’s a sequence with Natalia [Dyer] walking through a kind of Nightmare on Elm Street dreamscape. I heard the voice over from Vecna, my boy. Vecna says, ‘Ah, old Victor. I remember him well. Perhaps I should pay him a visit.’ So they have an option in Season 5 of either killing me on-screen or just telling the audience that Vecna killed me. They did bring it up, but there’s a lot of stuff they have to wrap up. It would be fun for me to do that.

Will Victor Creel Return In Stranger Things Season 5?

How Robert Englund Wants To Reprise His Stranger Things Role In Season 5

As Englund suggests, a line from Vecna reveals his intention to visit Victor at some point in the future. Since Stranger Things season 4’s ending left Vecna’s whereabouts unknown, it’s possible he could pay his father a visit before his final confrontation with the show’s main heroes. However, it’s unknown what Vecna would do if he did decide to confront Victor one more time.

While Englund wants to return as Victor to be killed by Vecna, it’s currently unclear what would happen to Victor if Vecna decided to visit him once again. By the end of Stranger Things season 4, Victor is still very much alive, though remains imprisoned because of his family’s deaths. Perhaps Vecna will visit Victor simply to taunt him, revealing his plans to bring the Upside Down into their dimension.

If Victor were to die, though, it would allow Englund to reprise the role for one last scene. This could make Victor’s exit from the show all the more impactful, with a focus on Vecna killing him to tie up every loose end he has. Since Vecna’s Stranger Things season 5 targets are yet to be revealed, Victor’s death could set the stage for a far more dangerous Vecna moving forward. Perhaps even a version of Vecna that more directly targets the show’s main heroes.
