How Ben & Hannah’s Quantum Leap Season 2 Relationship Will Develop Teased By Star

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Quantum Leap season 2, episode 6!

Quantum Leap star Eliza Taylor has hinted at more to come between Ben and her new character, Hannah, as their relationship grows over time. Season 2, episode 6 saw Ben leap to Princeton University in 1955, where he ends up running into Hannah, a woman he first met during a previous leap to 1949. He soon tells her he’s a time traveler, the pair forming a stronger bond as they try to stop a Nazi scientist.

Speaking with TVLine, Taylor indicated this episode won’t be the last for Hannah in Quantum Leap season 2. She confirmed her connection with Ben is real, teasing the two reuniting once more as the season progresses. Check out what Taylor had to say below:

I don’t think she would ever use the information in a way that would jeopardize the work that Ben’s doing. I think the great thing about Ben and Hannah is that there is a real mutual trust there and a real connection. [Hannah is] so grateful to know this person that she’s falling for, to really know them now, because we see in Episode 3 and the first half of Episode 6 that there’s an instant chemistry… To find out that these people are one, and they are Ben Song, is such a huge deal.

[It’s] safe to say that we will see [Hannah] again…people are going to have to tune in to find out how and when.

When Will Ben & Hannah Reunite In Quantum Leap Season 2?

Ben and Hannah are successful in stopping her boss Donovan from assisting the Nazis in using Albert Einstein’s secret formula to create a deadly bomb. Following the end of the mission, the two share a kiss before Ben leaps back to the present day. Since the time-crossed lovers have crossed paths before, it’s reasonable to assume their next encounter isn’t too many episodes away.

Since Quantum Leap season 2’s three-year time jump has resulted in Ben and Addison’s separation, it makes sense the leaper would end up finding a new relationship that could blossom as the series progresses. However, it doesn’t seem like he could form a long-term romance with Hannah unless he found a way to bring her back to the present day. In doing so, though, he could damage his timeline, making the pair’s love bittersweet and impermanent.

While it’s unclear if Quantum Leap season 3 might happen in the future, it’s possible Ben and Hannah’s relationship could span multiple seasons of the series. If that’s the case, then there may be more to their relationship and its long-term possibility than Ben continually jumping through time and meeting her by coincidence. Perhaps there is a bigger story at play within their encounters that will be further developed as the series continues.
