House Gets 23 Alternate Bizarre DVD Titles That Completely Change The Medical Drama

House gets 23 bizarre alternate DVD titles in a funny new video reel. The popular Fox drama could often zig and zag, famous for its misanthropic protagonist Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), and letting him investigate strange medical illnesses until he finds a solution. The formula helped turn the show into a long-running broadcast hit that combined episodic storytelling with larger arcs that played out throughout House‘s eight seasons and 177 episodes.

But a new reel, from the Instagram account 365daysofclick, proposes some alternative takes on House.

Some alternate DVD covers include: “House of Coat”, featuring the titular character in a coat. “Waffle House”, “House of Mouse”, which is appropriate since Fox is owned by Disney. There’s also “Vacation House” and the rather disturbing image of “Housefly”, among a swift succession of many others.

Could House Be Rebooted?

There has been speculation that House could be rebooted, but nothing has been confirmed. The House series finale leaves the show somewhat open to a continuation. The premise itself also potentially lends itself to a continuation. But with little news about the medical drama’s future, it is helpful to look at the show’s streaming performance to figure out if we might see an alternate version of Gregory House.

House was recently added to Hulu in its entirety. Taking the resurgence of Suits as one example, the legal dramedy likely wouldn’t have gotten a spinoff if not for the fact that it found a second life on Netflix. The best chance for House to be revived, allowing for at least some of the alternate titles to potentially happen, is that the series gets discovered by a new audience.

But even though House did conclude its original run with some avenues left to explore, it’s also a fitting send-off for the characters that audiences care about most. There will always be DVDs of the series, not to mention complete boxsets, that are primed for a rewatch and without the many clever cover redesigns seen in the Instagram video.
