As the anime community heads into Fall 2023, new anime are ready to take the stage and few look better than Undead Unluck does in its newest trailer. The new anime adapted from one of Shonen Jump’s most underappreciated manga has a lot of hype surrounding its release, and with a new trailer revealing the series’ cast and opening, fans are more excited than ever for Undead Andy’s adventures to make a screen debut.
The official website of Undead Unluck has released the main trailer for the anime and more. This comes ahead of the October 6th premiere and now with all the information regarding the series out, all fans can do is wait patiently. Undead Unluck is based on the manga of the same name by Yoshifumi Tozuka and is published in the Shonen Jump magazine. The manga is very popular, as it debuted in 2020 and won the Next Coming Manga award the same year.
Undead Unluck’s New Trailer Proves Why It’s Fall’s Most Anticipated Anime
The anime will be produced by David Productions, the studio behind Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force. It’s easy to see that off of the trailer, as the sound effects and animation style are very similar to that of Fire Force. The trailer shows off the action-packed nature of the series, with series protagonist Andy involved in many fights. The opening song is also featured in the trailer, titled “01” by Queen Bee. The band have worked on other hit anime such as Chainsaw Man and Oshi no Ko. Tired of inadvertently killing people with her special ability Unluck, Fuuko Izumo sets out to end it all. But when she meets Andy, a man who longs for death but can’t die, she finds a reason to live—and he finds someone capable of giving him the death he’s been longing for.
Yuki Yase will be the director of the show. His resume is impressive as he has worked on Fire Force, Nisekoi, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. David Productions has decided to bring back the Fire Force main staff such as Hideyuki Morioka as the character designer and Kenichiro Suehido as the music composer. The main voice actors will be Moe Kahara as Fuuko Izumo and Yuichi Nakamura, an industry legend who voices Satoru Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen and Hawks in My Hero Academia, will voice Andy. Other notable voice actors are Kenji Nomura who’ll voice Void and Natsuke Hanae as Shen. Many talented people have been recruited which means there’s a lot riding on this season to be successful.
With a killer premise, a strong cast, and a truly epic trailer, Undead Unluck is shaping up to rank among Fall 2023’s best anime. Though the manga has been running for some time now, the series hasn’t always gotten the recognition or audience it deserves, which is part of why the upcoming anime is so exciting.
