Horizon Forbidden West LEGO Set Turns Aloy & A Tallneck Into Blocks

Horizon Forbidden West LEGO Set Turns Aloy & A Tallneck Into Blocks

It’s official, Horizon Forbidden West will soon receive a 1,200-piece LEGO set, complete with an Aloy mini-fig and Tallneck model to build. LEGO has turned to video game worlds for sets in the past; Minecraft has been immortalized as a set more than one time, for example. And the Sonic Green Hill Zone LEGO Ideas project went on sale earlier this year in January.

Interestingly, this does not mark the first time that PlayStation and LEGO have occupied the same news item. Rumors were circulating late last year that the two companies would team up for an Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End-themed kit packed with over 1,300 pieces to assemble. The rumor went so far as to hint at the inclusion of Jeep and cave models. To the chagrin of many a Nathan Drake fan, though, this rumor quickly proved fake. However, it seems PlayStation and LEGO do intend to do business together, evidenced by a recent announcement about a certain Nora huntress.

As reported by Gizmodo, a Horizon Forbidden West LEGO set will become available for purchase on May 22 for $80. The kit boasts 1,222 pieces in total, including an Aloy mini-fig with a spear, Watcher, and Horizon’s docile Tallneck machines. Most notably, the latter stands 13.5 inches tall, with several other intricate details surrounding its long legs, such as a relatively small tree and rusted traffic light. In a statement about the forthcoming Horizon-themed set, LEGO Designer Isaac Snyder noted that he and LEGO worked closely with developer Guerrilla Games to truly capture the most iconic aspects of the PlayStation franchise. This is an incredible-looking feat, one that will hopefully sell well enough to ensure more Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West machines receive the LEGO treatment. How well would the Thunderjaw translate to LEGO, for instance? A Horizon Forbidden West creature like the Tremortusk, a mammoth-like machine, could make for quite the set, too.

A sequel to the 2017 PS4 hit, Forbidden West sees Aloy embark on an all-new journey to the western part of what was once the United States. The machines have developed into even more dangerous monstrosities and a deadly blight threatens to subject the world to yet another unstoppable apocalypse. Apparently, something else terrorizes the lands of the Forbidden West as well, with a tribe leader named Regalla (played by Angela Bassett) taking control of war machines that could bear some connection to the first game’s antagonist, Sylens.

Horizon Forbidden West hits PS4 and PS5 on February 18.
