Homelander vs Omni-Man Gets a Definitive Answer in R-Rated Fanart

Homelander vs Omni-Man Gets a Definitive Answer in R-Rated Fanart

The two most popular examples of the ‘evil Superman’ trope, The Boys‘ psychopathic supe Homelander and Invincible‘s planet-conquering Viltrumite Omni-Man are among the most powerful characters in pop culture. Fans have long debated who would win in a Homelander vs Omni-Man clash – and a new series of fan art images seemingly settles the debate.

Shared on X, @thirdphp’s epic art sees Homelander and Omni-Man battling high in the air. Matching enhanced strength, speed, and durability, it’s a true clash of the Titans.

While the image depicts the two at the beginning of a battle, @thirdphp followed this initial art with a gory image of Omni-Man having torn Homelander to pieces, below – unfortunately, the brutal win is too extreme for Screen Rant to show in full, though it would be right at home in Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley’s original Invincible comics, or Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s famously gore-laden The Boys – which makes even the outrageous Amazon adaptation feel restrained.

Homelander vs Omni-Man Fight Crowns Invincible’s Villain the Winner

Ultimately, @thirdphp’s conclusion is unavoidable. Omni-Man can move at light speeds, destroy asteroids the size of the moon, and survive the plasma of the sun whereas Homelander can move only faster than the speed of sound, and explicitly couldn’t survive a nuclear explosion (as confirmed in The Boys #61), with his most impressive feat of strength being throwing a jet. Homelander was a test subject that never had to push himself because he was always stronger than everyone else whereas Omni-Man comes from a species of warriors that destroyed their civilization over the compulsive need to test their strength in battle. However, @thirdphp did find a way for Homelander to win…

Homelander at Least Beats Omni-Man at… Drinking Milk?

In a follow-up prompted by a fan comment, @thirdphp references Homelander’s bizarre TV obsession with milk, as he towers over Omni-Man as the arrogant winner of a milk-drinking contest. It’s a fun nod to fans who want Homelander to triumph, but even the original The Boys comics didn’t give him an impressive or honorable death – in fact, Homelander canonically ends his life exactly as pictured here: torn limb from limb after challenging a far more powerful superhuman.

Debates between Invincible and The Boys fans will continue, but looking at the original comics, it’s a foregone conclusion who’d win a true fight to the death: @thirdphp’s art depicts the only possible outcome of a death battle between Homelander and Omni-Man.
