Hogwarts Legacy On Switch Can Fix One Major Mistake From PS5

Hogwarts Legacy On Switch Can Fix One Major Mistake From PS5

Hogwarts Legacy has been available on the PlayStation 5 for nearly nine months now, and with the impending arrival of the Nintendo Switch version of the game, this is a good opportunity for developers to make up for a flaw that the previous versions have. The RPG set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter fame lets everyone experience being a fifth-year student of Hogwarts in the 1800s. Familiar locations such as Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade, and more are all available for exploration in the open-world game full of danger and mystery.

Technical limitations made it difficult to bring the graphically intense Hogwarts Legacy to the Nintendo Switch, but it is finally almost here. The Nintendo Switch edition of the game will be released on November 14, 2023, and will be the last version to launch. With this release, developers could have a chance to make up for something that disappointed a lot of people earlier this year by making an exclusive quest reach a wider audience, and it could help to draw more interest in the Switch version after much of the initial hype for the game has now lessened.

One Of Hogwarts Legacy’s Quests Is Currently Only On PS4 and PS5

Hogwarts Legacy Quest: “Minding Your Own Business”

At the initial launch of Hogwarts Legacy, there was a massive quest that was made exclusive to the PlayStation versions. “Minding Your Own Business” is a quest that takes place during the winter season of the game in Hogsmeade and features memorable NPCs such as Penny the house-elf and culminates in the chance to run a store in Hogsmeade. For an exclusive quest, this is a very involved one that goes beyond simply getting an article of clothing or some extra items, and it is disappointing to have it limited to only one console’s version.

The “Haunted Hogsmeade” questline is an incredibly fun and fascinating set of quests that actually makes a big difference to the game and can add considerable value for those who purchased the game on PlayStation, but sadly everyone else was out of luck. Possibly, it was made exclusive as a way to highlight the capabilities of the PS5, as this quest is visually a very impressive display and the graphics of the PS5 highlight the horror theme, particularly when the mannequins first come to life.

“Minding Your Own Business” Is One Of The Most Impressive Quests In Hogwarts Legacy

The “Haunted Hogsmeade” quest, “Minding Your Own Business” takes players on an hour-long jaunt tackling challenging puzzles and fighting their way through a ghostly dungeon. If they can survive the evil animated mannequins and make it to the end, they ultimately get to have their own shop and the choice to either keep or free Penny the house-elf. Hogwarts Legacy is filled with amazing twists and turns and quests both large and small, but the quality of this one stands out above the rest, particularly when the final reward is considered.

Hogwarts Legacy On Switch Would Be A Good Chance To Release This Quest

Clearly, the PlayStation exclusive quest is exclusive due to a deal between Warner Bros. Interactive and Sony and is likely to be exclusive for a certain length of time. The Nintendo Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy is already going to be launched over nine months after the initial release of the game, and perhaps could have been a good chance to discuss the exclusivity arrangement to make the “Haunted Hogsmeade” quest available for the Nintendo Switch.

The drastic difference in graphics quality between the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation versions would still give the PS5 an advantage, and after this long, there are probably not many people who would be swayed to purchase the PS5 version over the Switch version just because of the exclusive quest. Additionally, for Hogwarts Legacy, the Switch release would greatly benefit from having any sort of extra boost to help encourage sales of the game after it has been delayed for so many months.

There Is A Chance The Quest Will Be Available For All On February 10, 2024

It is probably unlikely that Sony will have let Hogwarts Legacy put the “Haunted Hogsmeade” questline on the Nintendo Switch version of the game. That doesn’t mean anyone without a PlayStation is without hope of freeing Penny for themselves, however. Although it has not been confirmed, there is a good chance that the exclusivity agreement was made for one year. If this is the case, then that means that “Minding Your Own Business” will be able to be everyone’s business after February 10, 2024, if Hogwarts Legacy chooses to patch it into other platforms. Modders have checked and confirmed that the quest is not already in the code for the game on PC, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be added as a DLC.

Some of the most enjoyable aspects of Hogwarts Legacy come in the side quests and more subtle details that the game has to offer. When there aren’t Troll attacks, wandering through the town of Hogsmeade can be a relaxing and diverting activity that is surprisingly immersive from the depth of quality that has been created for it. Being able to have a shop located in the town, a little slice of something that players can claim as their own in Hogsmeade, would further this immersive quality and add a lot for all players of Hogwarts Legacy, regardless of the platform.
