IO Interactive, the developer of Hitman 3, has just announced the release date for the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Hitman 3 will be the third and final game in IO’s World of Assassination trilogy, which began with 2016’s conservatively named Hitman. This third installment is expected to wrap up the trilogy and feature a darker, more intricate storyline.
Like its two predecessors, Hitman 3 will take protagonist Agent 47 to beautiful and exotic locations as he works to hunt down and take out his targets. All six of the game’s levels were recently revealed, so gamers can look forward to exploring such iconic locations as Dubai, Berlin, and the Carpathian Mountains. However, Hitman 3 will not be limited to only six missions. Just as Hitman 2 contained all of the first game’s missions, Hitman 3 will contain all of the content from the two previous titles. Even more impressive is that IO apparently managed to fit all three games into less than 100 GB of storage.

The Switch version is set to release on January 20, the same day as every other version of the game, meaning Nintendo fans won’t experience any delays. Gamers playing Hitman 3 on the Switch will be experiencing the Cloud Version of the game, which utilizes cloud streaming technology to allow the new game to run on the older console.
Hitman 3 will conclude the World of Assassination trilogy, meaning that this is likely the last that fans will see of Hitman for some time. However, IO Interactive is moving on to an exciting new project, as the studio recently revealed that its next game will be set within the undercover world of James Bond. The Bond franchise seems to be a perfect fit for a studio that excels in subterfuge and assassination, so fans are eager to see the result of this collaboration.
IO Interactive’s World of Assassination trilogy has breathed brand new life into a classic franchise, successfully bringing Agent 47 into the modern age of gaming.
