Here’s How Big The Batteries Are On The iPhone 14 Models

Apple says the iPhone 14 delivers an all-day battery life, but what about the battery capacity? Over the last few years, Apple has improved the battery life of iPhones to a great extent. Then there are several mechanisms in place that monitor the battery and inform the user when it malfunctions.

Since a battery’s maximum capacity decreases over time, Apple has baked in a feature that allows users to view the actual battery capacity at any given moment. Essentially, the feature displays the current battery capacity as a percentage of the actual battery capacity at manufacturing. It is called Battery Health, and users can access it via the Settings section.

MacRumors has discovered the actual battery capacity of the new iPhone models from a Chinese regularity database. This database has a good track record as it has also revealed the battery capacities of other Apple products, such as the iPhone 13 and 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro. As per the publication, the vanilla iPhone 14 comes with a 3,279 mAh battery, similar to the 3,227 mAh battery on the iPhone 13 released last year. Even so, Apple promises one additional hour of video playback on the iPhone 14. The iPhone 14 Plus, rated to last for up to 26 hours of video playback, has a massive 4,325 mAh battery. Although there was no ‘Plus’ model in the iPhone 13 lineup, the battery capacity of the iPhone 14 Plus is comparable with that of ‘Pro Max’ models.

Talking about the ‘Pro’ models released this year, the iPhone 14 Pro reportedly packs a 3,200 mAh battery, about three percent larger than the battery on the iPhone 13 Pro. Now, it is difficult to imagine an Android flagship with a 3,200 mAh battery in 2022, but Apple rates the iPhone 14 Pro to last for up to 23 hours of video playback and 75 hours of audio playback. The most premium iPhone released at the Far Out event, iPhone 14 Pro Max, features a 4,323 mAh battery, less than the 4,352 mAh battery on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, Apple claims that the iPhone 14 Pro Max can last up to 29 hours of video playback, one hour more than its predecessor.

Typically, Apple does not advertise or market the battery capacity of iPhones. Instead, the company focuses on the effective battery life that the models deliver. This effective battery life results from many factors, including the battery capacity, processor power efficiency, display refresh rate and more. Given that iPhone 13 outperformed several Android flagships in battery drain tests, the iPhone 14 should do even better.
