The Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F budget is absolutely enormous. The fourth movie in franchise history, Axel F will revive a movie series that last saw a release in 1994. The movie will go straight to Netflix on July 3, but it was originally meant to be produced and released in the 90s. Eddie Murphy will return as Axel Foley, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as Detective Bobby Abbott, Kevin Bacon as Captain Cade Grant, and the rest of the Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F cast is similarly star-studded.
While it has been decades since the last release, the franchise has considerable backing behind it. According to a report by Deadline, it has a budget of $150 million, which would make it one of Netflix’s most expensive movies. There will be no theatrical release, as the movie will be released straight to Netflix. The previous highest budget in franchise history was just $70 million for Beverly Hills Cop III.
