Harvestella: How to Find (& Beat) The Unicorn

Harvestella: How to Find (& Beat) The Unicorn

If players are looking to unlock the Mage Job in Harvestella, they must first find and defeat an opponent known as the Unicorn. On a quest to find his “princess,” the Unicorn is not a hostile entity but misunderstands the player protagonist and Dianthus as a threat to his mission. Therefore, the Unicorn challenges adventurers to an unavoidable duel that serves as the game’s first miniboss battle. While the mechanics of the fight are relatively simple, there might be some fans who need help to defeat this miniboss, as this opponent performs some offensive moves that can be hard to avoid.

To defeat the Final Fantasy XIV-style Unicorn in Harvestella, it is essential that players recognize and know how to react to the miniboss’s two primary attacks. The Unicorn’s signature attack is his lightning strike, during which he raises his horn and produces an orange circle on the ground where the bolt will land. Next is the Unicorn’s horn uppercut, which involves rearing back before melee-swiping his sharp horn in one direction. The lightning strike’s circle will briefly track the player character’s movements before unleashing the bolt, while the horn uppercut’s knockback will take effect immediately if the Unicorn successfully strikes adventurers.

Harvestella: How to Find (& Beat) The Unicorn

Once players understand the Unicorn’s two primary attacks in Harvestella, they can devise a strategy on how they should engage. It should be noted that the Step Fighter Skill is essential for this fight, as it provides combatants with the means to dodge the FFXIV-esque miniboss’s attacks. Step can be unlocked using 150 JP after Blaze, the first Skills on the Fighter Tier 1 tree. After the orange circle appears around the protagonist’s avatar, walk until its homing mechanic stops, after which players should execute a Step dash. Likewise, adventurers can attack the Unicorn whenever they have the chance, but they should immediately dash away when the opponent winds back its head to avoid the horn uppercut.

For those struggling to find the Unicorn in Harvestella, players must reach the Crimson Cascade in the Higan Canyon. After entering the zone through the Valley Entrance, adventurers must continue onward into the Scarlet Gorge. Based on gameplay footage by YouTuber Yamatufa Gaming, the entrance to the Crimson Cascade is located on the far northern side of the Scarlet Gorge, which can be reached by taking the winding, linear pathway to the top. Due to a lack of time and stamina in this Square Enix JRPG, Adventurers might need to explore this gorge multiple times in order to lower the two ladder shortcuts for reaching the Unicorn’s location quickly in Harvestella.
