The Death Eaters are infamous and fearsome figures in the world of Harry Potter. They are Voldemort’s followers, Dark Wizards who are as ruthless and bloodthirsty as their leader. There’s no line they won’t cross as long as they are under the protection of their precious Dark Lord.
Should these cruel wizards find themselves in Squid Game‘s competition, they’d fit right into the carnage. They have no allegiance to one another, so they’d have nothing to stop them from offing one another for the prize. And while some Death Eaters are considerably more cowardly than others, they would all do their best to dominate the competition.
Peter Pettigrew
Every Harry Potter fan knows that Peter Pettigrew is a coward, unlike other notable and powerful Gryffindors. He is a selfish, petty, and treacherous rat who acts only out of fear or because he knows there’ll be a significant reward. Peter will degrade and humiliate himself just to stay alive. For example, he lived as a literal rat for 13 years.
In a deadly competition like the one in Squid Game, Peter would be a terrible contestant. He’s not a particularly gifted magician, nor does he have any physical attributes to make him stand out. Chances are he’d be the first to die, either by accident or sacrificed by his fellow Death Eaters.
The Carrows
Alecto and Amycus Carrow are the Death Eaters placed in Hogwarts by Voldemort. This pair, brother and sister, are low-ranking Death Eaters who seemingly never spent time in Azkaban. Alecto seems to be the brains of the two because many characters point out Amycus’ lack of intelligence.
The Carrows would stick together to make it past “Red Light, Green Light.” However, intelligence isn’t their strong suit, and they would probably perish during the Ppogi game. If they happened to extract the shape from the honeycomb candy by some miracle, then the tug of war would be their end because no decent Death Eater would want them on their team, leaving them on the losing side.
Fenrir Greyback
The notorious and sadistic werewolf Fenrir Greyback is one of the most dangerous Death Eaters. He killed for fun and enjoyed infecting children with lycanthropy. In fact, he’s the one who contaminated Lupin. Unlike other Death Eaters, Greyback didn’t follow Voldemort out of loyalty or because he agreed with his stance but rather because of the easy access to potential victims.
Greyback would be one of the most dangerous competitors. He is agile and outright lethal even if he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. However, the Ppogi game would be his undoing because he would probably break the honeycomb out of desperation. Greyback would try to fight the guards and might even kill a few before being taken down at last.
Lucius Malfoy
Readers of the Harry Potter books know Lucius Malfoy for having a bark thaat’s worse than his bite. A respected and snobbish member of the wizarding community, Lucius unwillingly goes back to serve Voldemort out of fear rather than actual loyalty. However, he shows his lack of skill during the battle at the Department of Mysteries and gets sent to Azkaban. He eventually gets out, but he is no longer the man he once was.
A broken man is an ineffective man, and Lucius’s experiences in Azkaban left him scarred for life. He’d go into the Squid Game probably because Voldemort told him to and would spend his entire time trying to ensure Draco’s safety. The two would pair up during the marble game, but Lucius would be unable to kill his own son and instead kill himself to give Draco a chance.
Draco Malfoy
Draco Malfoy never wanted to be a Death Eater. He only wanted to make his parents proud and allowed himself to become involved with Voldemort and his minions. In many ways, Draco is one of Harry Potter‘s most misunderstood characters, a child coerced into committing unspeakable acts.
In the deadly Squid Game, Malfoy would be one of the first to go. He probably would make it past the “Red Light, Green Light” and Ppogi games and the tug of war. However, once his father died, he’d become a sitting duck for the other Death Eaters. Recognizing Draco as a potential threat, the others would do everything to ensure his death, and he’d probably die during the bridge game.
Antonin Dolohov
Audiences don’t get to see much of Antonin Dolohov, but his reputation precedes him. Many characters claim that only Bellatrix and Snape match Dolohov in magical ability, making him one of the most powerful Death Eaters in Harry Potter. Fans briefly see him during the battle at the Department of Mysteries. He also attacks Harry, Ron and Hermione at the coffee shop in Deathly Hallows Part 1.
Dolohov’s bloodthirst and lack of empathy would make him the perfect killing machine. He’d cruise through the games, winning every time. Dolohov would have no issues killing his partner during the marble game or pulling people to their death during the tug of war. However, Hermione had little to no trouble overtaking him during the coffee shop attack, so perhaps all those years in Azkaban did a number on Dolohov.
Barty Crouch Jr.
Harry Potter book readers are well aware of Barty Crouch Jr., one of Voldemort’s most loyal servants. He joined the Death Eaters at a young age, almost straight out of Hogwarts, and was in Azkaban by 19. Barty was one of the cleverest Death Eaters ever, capable of executing his meticulous plan during the Triwizard Tournament, fooling the entire wizarding world in the process.
In the Squid Game, Barty would excel. He has the intellect to take on every challenge and the cold-bloodedness necessary to kill without remorse. Barty would form and break alliances as necessary, slowly manipulating everyone to ensure his victory. However, as the competition came to a close, he’d be no match for the remaining contestants, whose ability and wit are too great even for Barty.
Severus Snape
Severus Snape is quite possibly the most cunning wizard in the entire franchise. His wit and will match Dumbledore’s, and his raw magical ability placed him as Voldemort’s most trusted Death Eater. Snape was also a gifted Occlumens, capable of controlling his emotions and keeping his mind focused.
Snape would reach the final leg of the Squid Game with no problem. A Slytherin to the tee, he’d surpass every game thanks to his resourcefulness. Snape would finally be in trouble when playing the squid game against the other finalist, a Death Eater so cruel that even he’d be slightly afraid of her. The battle would be pretty even, but Snape would ultimately lose.
Bellatrix Lestrange
In the pantheon of great Harry Potter villains, Bellatrix has a place of honor. Some fans might hate her more than Voldemort, thanks to her cruelty. Indeed, Bellatrix Lestrange committed plenty of heinous acts, like torturing Neville’s parents and killing Sirius, Dobby, and Tonks, along with countless other victims. A tremendously gifted witch, she was able to fight Luna, Ginny, and Hermione at once without even breaking a sweat.
Bellatrix is a formidable enemy, and few came close to her in terms of battling prowess. She’s also remarkably clever, meaning she’d have no issue manipulating others. Bellatrix’s reputation might be so infamous that the staff members might even be afraid of her. She’d win the Squid Game, no questions asked.
