Harley Quinn’s Underrated Video Game Costume Returns with Perfect Upgrades

Harley Quinn’s Underrated Video Game Costume Returns with Perfect Upgrades

Without a doubt, Harley Quinn stands out as one of Batman’s most stylish rogues, boasting a wardrobe as diverse as it is extensive. Harley’s vibrant personality has been reflected in her outfits across various mediums, from animation to comics, live-action adaptations, and video games. Now, one of the Gotham Siren’s most underrated video game costumes is making a triumphant return to comics.

Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum #3, penned by John Layman and brought to life by Jesús Hervás and David Baron, continues the chaos of the previous issue that featured Amanda Waller purposely releasing the inmates within the facility in an attempt to weed out the strongest candidates for her Suicide Squad.

Issue #3 follows Harley as she navigates through the Asylum alongside Scarecrow and the Ventriloquist. Their journey culminates in a reunion with their confiscated gear and clothes, unveiling the return of Harley’s iconic costume from Batman: Arkham Knight.

Harley Quinn’s Batman: Arkham Knight Costume Returns to Comics With Her Iconic Mallet

Hervás and Baron’s combined artistic talents shine in their near-perfect recreation of one of Harley’s signature costumes from the Batman Arkham games. Mirroring the original design, the outfit showcased in Kill Arkham Asylum consists of a bustier, skirt, and leggings, all featuring Harley’s iconic red and black color scheme. The ensemble is embellished with leather straps, diamond-shaped studs, and white ruffled short sleeves, while also displaying the Gotham Siren’s recognizable diamond symbol on her leggings. Furthermore, Harley’s hairstyle echoes that of the video game, with one ponytail adorned with pink accents, another with blue, and bangs framing her face.

However, the outfit isn’t a mere copy; it features one notable upgrade that every classic Harley Quinn fan is sure to appreciate: the inclusion of the Gotham Siren’s oversized mallet. In Arkham Knight, Harley was typically seen wielding a bat instead of her iconic mallet. Therefore, this weapon change adds flair to the design and also harks back to Harley’s classic roots. With the recreation of the Batman: Arkham Knight costume coupled with the addition of the red and black mallet, this rendition stands out as an exceptional Harley Quinn costume that will hopefully be seen in future issues.

Harley’s Arkham Knight Costume Could Become DLC For Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Harley Quinn poses with a baseball bat and stylized pistol in front of a gooey, pink and purple explosion.

Given that Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum serves as the comic prelude to Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League video game, there’s a strong possibility that Harley’s featured Arkham Knight costume could make an appearance in the game as DLC. The comic prelude has adeptly teased various DLC, including the addition of Deathstroke as a playable character and bonus weapon dolls. Therefore, it’s not unreasonable to speculate that issue #3 is hinting at a soon-to-be-released Harley outfit. For fans wanting to verify this Harley Quinn costume speculation themselves, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now available to play!
