Harley Quinn: 10 Love Interests She Could Have In The DCEU (Who Aren’t Joker)

Harley Quinn: 10 Love Interests She Could Have In The DCEU (Who Aren’t Joker)

When somebody says Harley Quinn, most fans of the Clown Princess of Crime immediately think about the Joker. The two supervillains have been closely connected for years. Harley was Joker’s girlfriend and his partner in crime, even though it was Joker who called the shots most of the time.

The relationship between them was far from healthy, so when it came to its end, many fans of Harley rejoiced. However, what those who don’t read the comic books might not know is that Harley has had a lot of other relationships/crushes besides the Joker. And with a bit of work, some could also appear in the DCEU.

Batman

Opposites do attract – and it just so happens this saying is true for both Batman and Harley Quinn. Harley kissed the caped crusader on multiple occasions, and she never hid her attraction for him too hard.

Harley also likes Bruce Wayne without knowing Bruce Wayne is Bruce. In the DCEU, she named her hyena after Bruce Wayne, and she kissed Batman, so she certainly finds him intriguing enough to pursue.

Wonder Woman

Harley isn’t picky in her affections. She likes both heroes and villains, men and women. Wonder Woman happens to be one of the most attractive superheroes, and Harley, of course, noticed. She considered herself Diana’s fan and when she learned the Amazon princess was in danger, she went to her apartment to protect her.

Wonder Woman naturally wasn’t too excited about Harley’s visit, but Harley considered the mission a success and a start of their romance. And since both of them exist in the DCEU, they could very well meet there as well, not just in the comics.

Deadshot

Deadshot and Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad

This couple already got hinted at in the 2016 film Suicide Squad where Harley flirted with Deadshot. They got even closer in the comics where they formed a couple for a while. There were some weirder moments, like the time when Harley decided to put Joker’s removed face on Deadshot, but they also had more normal experiences together – in the comics and animated movies too.

For example, Harley convinced Joker not to kill Deadshot. If Deadshot ever returns to the DCEU, he and Harley could potentially hit it off!

Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy is one of Harley’s best-established romantic relationships in the comics, right there at the top alongside the Joker. But unlike the Joker, Ivy actually cares about Harley and she wants her to be happy. They have a much healthier, balanced relationship.

It translated onto TV screen as well in the second season of the animated TV show Harley Quinn. And as for the DCEU, Harley briefly mentions dating Ivy but they broke up. Perhaps they could get back together, nothing is impossible with those two super-villains.

Shazam

Of all the above-mentioned pairings, it’s most likely this one will never happen. One reason is that Harley is an adult in the DCEU and Shazam is still a kid. Another reason is that Harley had a thing for Shazam in the Injustice universe that is very different from the mainstream one.

In a world with evil Superman, Harley flirted with Shazam and tried to convince him to stand against Superman but when it led nowhere, she gave up in the end.

Catwoman

Another famous female villain Harley was romantically linked to is none other than Catwoman. But this romance isn’t as known as Harley’s relationship with Poison Ivy.

It happened in an alternate storyline Old Lady Harley. In this world, Harley has been married multiple times, and Selina Kyle was one of her spouses. But the marriage, unfortunately, didn’t last. It still sounds more idyllic than Harley’s relationship with Joker, though.

Nightwing

When Harley’s not too busy fighting Batman or pining after Batman/Bruce Wayne, she also sets her gaze elsewhere. In Batman and Harley Quinn (2017), she decided to pursue Nightwing.

And as is Harley’s custom, she chose a very direct approach – she tied Nightwing to bed and then had her way with him (but he consented). Batman was very disgusted by the whole ordeal, and it would be interesting to see what his reaction would be in the DCEU.

Rick Flagg

Suicide Squad Rick Flagg

Colonel Rick Flagg already appeared in a live-action DCEU movie – he guarded the team in Suicide Squad. However, in this movie, he romanced June Moore aka Enchantress, and she returned the feeling. In one comic book storyline, though, Flagg ends up with Harley Quinn instead.

These two find understanding in one another, and when Flagg later sacrifices his life during a mission, Harley is devastated.

Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern

Green Lantern has yet to make an appearance in the DCEU, just like Nightwing, but if he ever does, he could team up with Harley. In one storyline, Harley donned her own ring and became one of the Lanterns.

She and Hal Jordan joined forces to stop an alien invasion. And when they successfully returned, Harley decided to celebrate by kissing Hal – and he kissed her back. The dynamic between them is something the DCEU could potentially have a lot of fun with.

Green Arrow

Green Lantern, Poison Ivy, and now Green Arrow… Harley seems to like the color green.

Just like with Shazam, Harley’s interest in the green-clad superhero happened in the Injustice series. Harley and Oliver end up working together to defeat the evil Superman, and Harley admits to having a bit of a crush on her fellow fighter.
