Halo Season 3 Chances Get Hopeful Update From Star After Acclaimed Season 2

After the success of Halo season 2, Joseph Morgan (James Ackerson) has high hopes for season 3. Based on the video game franchise, the show follows Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) as he works to protect humanity from the deadly Covenant forces. Season 1 was the subject of sharp criticism, but season 2 recovered by replacing showrunners Kyle Killen and Steven Kane with David Wiener. Since that change, the show has earned critical acclaim.

With Halo‘s reviews praising its new tone and atmosphere, season 2 is an unrivaled success for the show. Even after its recovery, however, Halo season 3 has not yet been confirmed. Morgan spoke to Screen Rant about the show’s future, but he had little definitive evidence that another season is coming. While he knows that it received “great” viewership, Morgan has not yet had a call about season 3. Check out his full quote below:

No, look, I know that the show was well received critically, and I know that we’ve had a very passionate and positive response from the fandom, and I know that it got some great numbers in terms of viewing figures, so that’s it. That’s all I know. I’m waiting for the phone to ring, man. I would love to come and do another season, especially because I feel like there was a changing of the guard for season 2 and the new showrunner, David Wiener, brought me on. He was responsible for me being a part of the show, and he was responsible for changing the vision of the show and the direction of the show. But he also had the cards dealt to him from season 1 of like, “Here’s where you start. You have to play off this.” But now, I feel like, especially with the introduction of the Flood now, season 3 is going to be epic if we get to do that. So yeah, I am very hopeful.

A live-action adaptation of the video game franchise of the same name, Halo follows Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 (Pablo Schrieber) as he fights his part in a war between humanity’s United Nations Space Command (UNSC) and the Covenant, an alliance of multiple hostile races of aliens intent on destroying the human race. The Master Chief is supported by Cortana (Jen Taylor) – an AI construct based on the personality of Dr. Catherine Halsey, who created the Spartan supersoldier program – implanted in his brain.
