Halo Season 2 Trailer Reveals Master Chief’s Return, New Cortana Design & The Covenant’s Destructive Rise

Nearly two years after its premiere, the first Halo season 2 trailer has arrived. Based on the Bungie and 343 Industries video game franchise of the same name, the Paramount+ show centers on Master Chief and the United Nations Space Command as they fight to take down the alien alliance known as the Covenant as they attempt to wipe out humanity in search of the eponymous world.

In honor of the streamer’s CCXP panel, Paramount+ has revealed the first Halo season 2 trailer.

The video, as seen above, reveals an action-packed look at the show’s next chapter, including the Covenant’s reign of destruction as they step up their efforts to wipe out the human race from the galaxy. The trailer also highlights Master Chief and the UNSC’s attempts to thwart them, as well as the return of Cortana, albeit with a new design.

    Summary:
Loosely based on the Halo video game franchise, Halo the TV series takes place in the 26th century as a conflict between humanity and the alien cult known as the Covenant wages. Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) stands tall as the best of the Spartans, an elite group of military-bred child soldiers selected and turned into Earth’s secret weapon. However, his connection to ancient technology to a race known as the forerunners may mark the chance for a chance at victory for humanity. Aligned with a hyper-intelligent and sentient AI called Cortana, Master Chief will wage war against the covenant while fighting alongside a new generation of heroes and heroines. The Halo TV Series stands separately from the video game franchise, with many relationships and terms being used for different things in the series. The TV series also has the distinction of being the first time Master Chief ever removes his helmet and reveals his face to the viewer – something that has not happened in the games. Though Master Chief is the title hero, several other new characters, such as Kwan, will also take the spotlight throughout the show.
