Halo Season 2 Episode 4 Clip Sees Master Chief Ready To Defend Reach (Without Armor)

Halo season 2 is about to bring the Fall of Reach to Paramount+, and Screen Rant has a clip to preview the action. The show’s second season continues to explore the man beneath the MJOLNIR armor, with a human-based story that still tees up a massive battle between human and alien Covenant forces. With Halo season 2 episode 4 set up to bring a number of major story arcs to completion, it’s likely to be one of the show’s most consequential and exciting episodes.

Screen Rant is excited to debut a clip from Halo season 2 episode 4 which shows Captain Keyes and Master Chief facing down soldiers who are prepared to fight and die for their planet. The clip also has big implications regarding Master Chief’s MJOLNIR armor and whether audiences will see the character suited up in the episode. Enjoy the clip and get ready to witness the Fall of Reach on Thursday, February 22 on Paramount+.

How Halo’s Silver Timeline Helps Its Reach Story

Halo’s Silver Timeline keeps the events of the show at an arm’s length from original game canon, which can be refreshing to remember as the series takes wide steps away from Bungie’s work. This is a blessing for the show’s Reach storyline, as it allows characters from wider Halo canon to be active participants in the epic battle for the planet’s survival. Most notably, Master Chief himself is effectively missing from the story of Bungie’s Halo: Reach game, making the character’s presence in the show a bonus of the new timeline.

Based on the clip above, the episode will also test how strong Master Chief is without his armor. John-117’s lack of armor in the Halo series is over-documented at this point, but the clip does point to what could be his biggest combat operation yet without his MJOLNIR suit. Intentional or not, this nods to the fact that there is no suited-up Master Chief fighting to save Reach in the game timeline—in this way, the Silver Timeline makes the Chief a participant while still keeping his iconic armor separate from the visuals of Reach burning.

One burning question about the Silver Timeline’s Fall of Reach storyline is how and if it will finally bring the show to the Halo ring itself. Pablo Schreiber teased that Halo season 2 will visit the Halo ring, and in the Halo: Reach game, survivors of that fight find themselves marooned on Halo just a few short weeks later. This could be a huge development for the second half of Halo season 2, although it’s unclear exactly how many episodes will be devoted to Reach’s collapse.

Halo season 2 episode 4 will be released Thursday on Paramount+.

The Master Chief is supported by Cortana (Jen Taylor) – an AI construct based on the personality of Dr. Catherine Halsey, who created the Spartan supersoldier program – implanted in his brain.
