Halo Infinite Team Hides All 12 Members Inside Loot Cave

A team of players in Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer recently managed to stow themselves away in one of the game’s loot caves, much to the confusion of the opposing team. This sneaky accomplishment was achieved during Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer test flight, which is a timed beta mode that was recently made available to select Xbox players.

This early build of Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer appears to be positively received. The game’s signature physics-based action and tight shooter mechanics have returned in full force in this beta, and fans have uncovered all sorts of unique features to explore. While there are still some more game modes yet to be released, new inclusions and gameplay tools, like the grapple hook, have been keeping experimental players busy – with some praising the game as a return to form for the series.

Redditor Infenty and his teammates recently leveraged these fun mechanics to find a hilarious exploit to use against their opponents. By making use of Halo Infinite‘s Spider-Man-esque grappling hook and handy Repulsor tool, these players were able to hide away in an interior alcove in one of the game’s maps. In a clip uploaded by Infenty, viewers can watch as members of the opposing team cluelessly meander about the space below, not able to see the twelve players camped out some feet above them.

We managed to hide our entire team of 12 people in the loot cave even though the enemy saw us enter from halo

The gleeful giggles of the hiding team and the playful shenanigans they appear to be getting into to reminded some commenters of the days of classic Halo. Many long-time fans have been left somewhat disappointed by the state of the previous few entries in the series, owing to a combination of recycled mechanics and a lack of the strong identity of the early games. Indeed, nostalgia plays a role in the game’s reception, as evidenced by the recent petition to bring back the classic match announcer for Halo Infinite.

With less than two months until the full release of Halo Infinite, fun clips like these will likely help build anticipation for its release. These spontaneous multiplayer moments serve as teasers for the game’s possibilities post-launch. If the single-player campaign can capture even a fraction of this energy, then Halo Infinite is steering the series in the right direction.

Halo Infinite will be released on December 8, 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
