Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Adds A Dark Twist To Park Seo-joon & Han So-hee’s Characters

Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Adds A Dark Twist To Park Seo-joon & Han So-hee’s Characters

Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee’s characters in Gyeongseong Creature are set to be very different in season 2 now that the show is adding a dark twist to their stories. Gyeongseong Creature season 1’s ending left a lot of doors open for a possible second season to explore. Fortunately, the Netflix K-Drama series was renewed for season 2 and will premiere in 2024 but with a twist. Gyeongseong Creature 2 will take place in 2024, 79 years after the events of the first season.

Two Gyeongseong Creature season 2 clips have been shared so far, both of which see Park and Han interacting in modern-day Seoul. Season 1’s post-credits scene introduced a “new” character named Ho-jae, who is played by Park Seo-joon. The historical K-drama, which no longer fits into that description now that it will take place in the present day, has found a way to bring back its two lead actors despite the radically different setting. However, this potential reunion between Jaang Tae-sang and Yoon Chae-ok might not be very happy at first.

Tae-sang & Chae-ok Could Both Be Monsters In Gyengseong Creature Season 2

Chae-ok was infected with the Najin organism at the end of Gyeongseong Creature season 1, which was the only way to save her life. Chae-ok’s mother, who was Gyeongseong Creature’s titular creature, accidentally hurt her daughter but found a way to bring her back to life. The monster passed down the parasite into Chae-ok’s bloodstream, which was both a blessing and a curse to Han So-hee’s character. Chae-ok survived, but she is now at risk of becoming a monster like her mother before her. To make things more complicated, Chae-ok now seems to be immortal.

Han is reprising her role as Chae-ok in Gyeongseong Creature, which will be set in 2024. In other words, Chae-ok has not aged a day in almost 80 years, which can be explained by whatever abilities the Najin parasite has given her. This same explanation may apply to Park Seo-joon’s Tae-sang, who most likely drank the glass of contaminated water at the end of season 1, part 1. Gyeongseong Creature’s lead characters may now both be cursed with these monster powers that have made them immortal and potentially a threat to others.

What Chae-ok & Tae-sang Being Infected Means For Gyeongseong Creature 2

Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Adds A Dark Twist To Park Seo-joon & Han So-hee’s Characters

Whether Tae-sang is actually infected and alive in 2024 remains to be confirmed, but it is the most likely explanation for why Park Seo-joon’s character still looks the same several decades later. Ho-jae could be just a fake name Tae-sang is using, which would make sense given that he would have to abandon his original documents and identity eventually. The scar on Ho-jae’s neck also implies that he has gone through some kind of transformation at some point, further suggesting he is infected with the parasite and is now a potential creature himself.

Tae-sang and Chae-ok didn’t get to have a happy ending in the first season, as the latter died in the former’s arms and presumably never encountered the latter after being resurrected. It will be interesting to see why they never reconnected during those 80 years, assuming season 2 will see them reuniting for the first time since 1945. The first Gyeongseong Creature 2 clips indicate that there is tension between Chae-ok and “Ho-jae,” as if they do not know each other too well. This makes it more difficult to predict what exactly season 2 will be about.

Gyeongseong Creature 2 Will Completely Flip Season 1’s Story

Even though it is still early to predict what will happen in Gyeongseong Creature season 2, the show is set to flip season 1’s story. Whereas the first season was about Tae-sang and Chae-ok investigating this mysterious creature and what led to its creation inside a hospital, season 2 may have both of them as monsters. Using the powers given by the Najin parasite to justify how Chae-ok and Tae-sang can still be alive all those years later is a smart move that allows Gyeongseong Creature to jump into the future while still creating new challenges for its characters.

10 Biggest Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 Theories

Several Gyeongseong Creature season 2 theories try to explain Park Seo-joon’s “new” character and Han So-hee’s return as Chae-ok, now in 2024.

There are multiple possibilities as to where Gyeongseong Creature season 2 could be heading. For example, one of the effects of the monster transformation may be loss of memory, which would explain why Park and Han’s characters are treating each other so oddly in the first season 2 clip. It’s also unclear how Lady Maeda, Lieutenant Kato, and the baby will fit into season 2, as they were all live by the end of season 1. Hopefully, all of these questions will be satisfyingly answered once Gyeongseong Creature returns.
