Gwen Stacy Brought To Life In Pitch-Perfect Cosplay

Gwen Stacy is one of the most beloved characters in Spider-Man stories and all of Marvel Comics, and now cosplayer Olivia Marie (@Hairsprayhippie) has brought her to life with a pitch-perfect cosplay. Marie recently shared her take on Stacy as she sported Peter Parker’s longtime flame’s iconic look. The popular cosplayer absolutely nailed the ensemble, as it captures Gwen – and her most classic outfit – to a tee.

Gwen Stacy first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 and was created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. Before being killed off in the iconic “The Night Gwen Stacy Died” story, Stacy was originally Parker’s love interest. Stacy’s death remains one of the most shocking and emotional moments in Marvel Comics history. While the original character has been sidelined since her death, Stacy has lived on as Marvel has introduced alternate-universe versions of her, including the wildly popular Spider-Gwen – who’s effectively become the main Gwen Stacy in the Marvel Multiverse. For those longing to see Gwen’s classic look return, cosplayer Olivia Marie has shown what she would look like if she returned to the comics or debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On her Twitter account @Hairsprayhippie, Olivia Marie shared her cosplay version of Gwen Stacy. The look is as classic as it gets, as Marie sports Stacy’s iconic blonde hair, as well as her green coat, blue skirt, and black turtleneck. In a nice touch, Marie is holding the masterworks edition comic of Spider-Man’s first appearance from Amazing Fantasy #15 – which is a perfect way to honor the hero with the look.

Marie’s take on Gwen Stacy is another incredible look by the talented cosplayer. On her Instagram page, Marie’s greatest ensembles show her versions of Harley Quinn from The Suicide Squad, bringing Power Girl to life in an awesome Justice Society of America recreation, her take on Rogue and X-23 from the X-Men, as well as Wonder Woman. Marie doesn’t just do comic book cosplays, as she’s shared her versions of Dva from Overwatch, Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, as well as each of The Powerpuff Girls from the classic animated series.

Ultimately, Marie (like many of her cosplays before this one) did an incredible job at bringing Stacy to life. Her ’60s inspired take on the character is relatively simple, but that’s what makes it so good. It feels classic and fresh at the same time. Olivia Marie really nailed Gwen Stacy’s entire look.
