GTA Trilogy Mocked For Getting Rockstar Games’ Logo Wrong

In yet another controversial moment for Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition, it seems that an in-game Easter egg has gotten Rockstar Games’ famous star logo wrong. What was once an exciting chance to relive classic GTA installments Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has become the subject of internet backlash and unintentional comedy after Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition launched with numerous bugs and graphical issues last week – as shown in GTA Trilogy – Definitive Edition’s initial wave of negative player reviews.

While players were already making fun of Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition’s questionable graphics following the remaster’s reveal trailer last month, the mockery intensified once fans got to play through it firsthand. In the days since Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition was released, the internet has been flooded with stories of creepy, close-up camera angles, strange character models, and other wild glitches. For example, GTA Trilogy’s rainfall is so heavy that even navigating the crime-ridden streets of San Andreas at night is a challenge in and of itself. Now, it seems that not even a shout-out to Rockstar itself is immune from GTA Trilogy – Definitive Edition’s shortcomings, and fans have been quick to take note of it.

Reddit users Aanandertoe and TOOMtheRaccoon posted screenshots of a swimming pool in the shape of Rockstar Games’ logo to r/GTA, highlighting the incorrect star shape. Rockstar traditionally hides its star-shaped emblem somewhere in every GTA installment, with this particular instance being found in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Unfortunately, the in-game mini-map in Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition depicts the star with five full points, which differs from the official logo’s four points with the fifth concealed in the “R.” Though the actual pool still features the correct Rockstar logo, commenters have started to joke that Rockstar is going to officially announce that this will be the company’s new logo going forward, as well as mocking developer Grove Street Games for getting the star shape wrong.

I have no words… from GTA

How? And why? I just have no words. from GTA

While there has been plenty of amusing mockery regarding Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition’s many technical woes, not everyone is in a mood to laugh. Many players have started to demand refunds from Rockstar Games, and the company’s apparent reluctance to provide them has done little to ease the situation. The backlash for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition has been especially severe, as Rockstar was forced to briefly pull the game from its online servers just a few days after release due to the inclusion of additional files. It has since been restored with numerous updates to address some of GTA Trilogy – Definitive Edition’s problems, but for some fans the damage has already been done.

Grand Theft Auto Trilogy – Definitive Edition has had many strange bugs, glitches, and mistakes pointed out by players since it released late last week, but this recent blunder regarding Rockstar’s logo on Vice City’s mini-map is especially strange considering it can be plainly seen in its correct form in the game world itself. It’s possible that the mistake will be patched out down the line, with Grove Street Games confirming GTA Trilogy updates are in development.
