The perfect Jedi Master to train Grogu already exists in the Star Wars universe, and has for the last eight years. When Grogu was first introduced in The Mandalorian as a Jedi youngling who had escaped Order 66, it quickly became clear that, while he couldn’t speak, he had a strong connection to the Force. Grogu’s backstory has gradually been revealed, and he increasingly uses his connection to the Force to protect his savior and adoptive father, Din Djarin. Even without proper training and despite being the equivalent of a toddler in human years, Grogu proves himself to be a formidable warrior with great potential.
In The Mandalorian season 2, Ahsoka Tano refused to train young Grogu, insisting that his attachments made him vulnerable to the dark side of the Force. Rey Would Be A Perfect Master For Grogu
Unlike Ahsoka, who experienced the pain of losing a Master to the dark side due to his attachments, and Luke, who had been trained by traditional Masters Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Rey gained strength from her attachments. Rey is introduced as a character with strong attachments, as she refuses to leave Jakku specifically because she won’t let go of her family. When she finally does leave and joins the Resistance, it is because of her attachments to Han Solo, Chewbacca, Finn, and Poe Dameron, along with her broader desire to help the oppressed. Rey understands that attachments can breed strength rather than just darkness.
Further, Rey’s abandonment by her family resulted in great trauma, isolation, and an inability to use her Force abilities for many years. Like Grogu, Rey understands what it is like to be sent away and hidden for one’s own protection. She can understand Grogu in a way that other Jedi cannot. This puts her in the perfect position to teach Grogu. Grogu needs a Master who can understand him and who will instruct him on how to guard himself from the dark side using his attachments. Just as Rey’s friends keep her in check, Din Djarin could be a stabilizing factor for Grogu that keeps him grounded in the light side of the Force.

Will Grogu Be In Rey’s New Jedi Order Movie?
It’s hard to say whether Grogu will be a Jedi in Rey’s upcoming Star Wars movie, but it would be very exciting if he was. Because his species lives for an incredibly long time, it is almost guaranteed that Grogu is alive during the time of Rey’s Jedi Order. Further, he would likely be old enough to talk at that point. His training as a Mandalorian would make him a real asset to the Order; Mandalorians are well known to be formidable warriors, and, with Din Djarin also encouraging Grogu’s Force abilities as he trains as a foundling, it is inevitable that this combination will make him one of the strongest warriors in Star Wars.
It is clear that Grogu would make both an excellent Jedi and an excellent Mandalorian. With Rey’s help, there is no doubt that he would become a powerful Force-wielder. Further, Din Djarin himself would also be an asset. While he is not Force-sensitive, he is an excellent warrior and clearly knows how to foster people’s abilities. Despite not being able to use the Force himself, he has still trained Grogu and pushed him to use it and grow his powers. With his experience as a warrior and Rey’s experience with and intimate knowledge of the Force, the two could make a great teaching pair.
